Author name variations--argh!

Help! My first book was just my maiden name, then I wrote a few as Jeannette Batz Cooperman, and now my new mystery (first fiction attempt, and the one I'd love to interact with readers about on GoodReads) is only "Jeannette Cooperman." I wrote to GoodReads to see if there was a way to get all my books on one page, and now my page has been stripped back to just "Jeannette Batz" with only that first long-ago book. I'm glad to ignore all the nonfiction and just have a "Jeannette Cooperman" page with only the new book, but now I'm stuck with the other one, right? Sorry for this tangle. any advice? Hi Jeannette, please go through our policy regarding multiple names here.

Since your claimed author profile is "Jeannette Batz", we can add this name as primary author on all the books you've written so that they are all available on your page. For books published with Jeannette Cooperman and Jeannette Batz Cooperman, we can add these names as secondary authors on respective books. This way, if someone searches for Jeannette Cooperman, they can still find your books published with that name.

If you wish to change your author name to complete Jeannette Batz Cooperman, please contact Goodreads support and they can do it for you. Once you confirm which profile you would prefer to be primary profile, let us know and we'll add the name to all your books :)

Michael, thank you! I think I'd better go back to Jeannette Batz Cooperman (which is how I had it set up originally). I'll contact GoodReads support right now and ask them to make it so! You've just addressed the reason I'd messed with it in the first place--i was afraid a search for "Jeannette Cooperman," most recent byline, wouldn't pull up the page. Bless you for answering this tangle and clarifying :)

Not quite. It should be primary on any work first published under that name. But for any work first published (or only published) under another version of the author's name, Jeannette Batz would be listed second.

For that reason, the author using the longest version of their name is often simplest.
