Description: "Mackie Doyle is not one of us. So, I've finished the first 4 chapters. So far the story is a bit slow.
(view spoiler)[I understand he's being weakened by iron. It sounds like Mackie is a changeling. What I don't understand is why his adoptive family wants to protect him so much. Are they hoping they'll be able to exchange him for their real son later in life? (hide spoiler)]

Not really, I just started before you, but I won't be reading more than 4 chapters per day and if you want me to slow down or speed up just let me know. :)

Well I read chapters 1-6

I feel like it was a little bit slow as well. (view spoiler)[ Mackie has this big secret which people aren't supposed to know. What I don't understand is how his family knows everything about him. I know he was just there one night and replaced the baby that was there before, but does his family only think that he is allergic to these things and they make him sick. I am hoping I will find this out more once I get farther. I find it rather weird that his father is a priest and he is basically raising a demon. I thought it was really interesting at the end of chapter six when the guy tells him he is dying, so obviously there is more people out there just like him, but why won't he get to know those people, I know they are 'bad' but then he could understand what is going on with him some more. (view spoiler)[Ok, are you bored? Because I am. :( So far, the only thing that's happened is that he found out he's a fae, or from the other place and agreed to help them. The fact that fae die or get aggressive when people forget them is nothing new. Donno, I don't find this story particularly original. And the fact that is slow paced is not helping me reading it at all. *sigh* (hide spoiler)]

Oh, well, I already dropped the book :( . I'm sorry, but last night I felt asleep while reading ch 13. And I do admit it's not a good idea to read this book after 10, but that was the last straw. Nothing is freaking happening... like, nothing!
