By all means, it's your challenge, you can read as many or as few books as you choose. No one will check up on you! :-)

I am sure there was a thread with the listopeia lists for all of the prompts in one place, but now it isn't here. I am also getting very frustrated because I cannot find the discussion threads for all the prompts, only some are listed. I asked about the others before and the answer I got told me to do things from a browser, which I could not figure out.. Sorry I am not that savy so I guess I need simpler instructions, but I am in need of direction for a few of the prompts and would like to revisit the discussions, and would also like to comment on others that I feel I have good ideas for - so I am a bit upset that it is not easier to find the discussions. Help please.
Hi Barb,I'm sorry you are struggling to find threads here. There is a lot of activity and Goodreads defaults to sorting by most recent activity so usually the top threads you see are the ones people have been recently using (so it's always changing).
You can find all the listopia links here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
On the app (or at least on my app) it usually only shows the top handful of discussion folders, but there should be a link at the bottom of that says "see all discussions" which should show you all the discussion folders. You'd have to click on the appropriate folder to see the individual threads.
Any time you see it recommended to use the browser on your phone for a particular feature, if you have an android phone it would be chrome. If you are an iPhone user I think it's Safari? I'm an android user so I'm only limited help on an iPhone. Once you open your browser window just go to goodreads.com. You can navigate from there to the groups and see all the expanded features. You can certainly do this on a laptop or desktop computer as well, but most members are trying to function on their phones so the limits of the goodreads app warrants the need to use the phone's browser.
Hope that helps! If you have any more questions just let us know!
I was trying to add books to my Pop Sugar Challenge list and I lost the whole thing. It just disappeared. 753 no longer exists. Is there any way to retrieve it? Arrrggghhh. Jane

Sara, thank you for that link! that is the one I have been trying to find again. I log in on my laptop and it doesn't have the "see all discussions" so I need that link. I am not reading for the challenges in any kind of order, and have changed my mind on how I am applying certain books, so I have had the need to go back to the suggestions/discussions for reference so this helps. I appreciate your time. I've never participated before and am still learning how to navigate. Barb

I just downloaded "The Au Pair" from the library. Apparently I was on the hold list but I don't remember why I wanted to read it. Anyone have this book on their list for this year?
If I finish a book and reread it (reading it twice in 2020), would you guys count it more than once?
Whitney wrote: "If I finish a book and reread it (reading it twice in 2020), would you guys count it more than once?"Twice in the same year? I wouldn't. But, you can if you want. Some people use the same book for multiple categories anyway.
Whitney wrote: "If I finish a book and reread it (reading it twice in 2020), would you guys count it more than once?"I wouldn't count it, but this year I'm not using any rereads for any of the challenges.
Whitney wrote: "If I finish a book and reread it (reading it twice in 2020), would you guys count it more than once?"I might if it was one I needed to re-read to get more clear facts like the one I am reading now. Things in Jars.
I had named my shelf "Jane" and got credit for none of my books for this challenge. I've read 34. So I changed my shelf to "juniperlake" Nothing seems to have changed. What am I doing wrong? I've done the challenge twice before and never had this problem.
I had this same problem. I usually update my progress and click "I'm finished". But the book wouldn't add to my Pop Sugar challenge shelf.I now go back to the book I finished in "My Books", click on READ, and then make the check mark in the box next to whatever shelf I want. You'd likely pick juniperlake.
I also can click on the Home Page, click on 25 Books Read (or whatever number), and do the same as I would in My Books.
The only shorter way I've found is make sure that your book is on your TBR list first and edited to be on the shelf you want credit for.

Whichever one you're using, you'll need to add the book to the shelf for it to show up
Hi,I was wondering, since I joined the challenge mid-year, do the books I have read in the previous months (but in 2020) count in the challenge or not?
Thank you :D

I don't see why not if you can fit them into categories.

yes, everything counts. This Challenge doesn't have a firm start or finish date, no one will check your work, you can use any book that you think fits the category, you are your own judge. Have fun reading!

For 2021 can we have a separate folder for the reading plans and we can each create a new topic for our own reading plans/options? Just an idea coz I am running out of space in mine 😊

Hi Udari, before I answer your question, could you elaborate on what you hope to gain by having individual threads for members' reading plans?
Sara wrote: "Udari wrote: "For 2021 can we have a separate folder for the reading plans and we can each create a new topic for our own reading plans/options? Just an idea coz I am running out of space in mine ..."
I thought it might give us easy access to the individual plans and more space. I should mention this is not my idea, it's what Around the Year in 52 Books is doing and I thought maybe we could try it here too. It was just an idea. 😊
Wouldn't it be hard to find your individual thread among hundreds? At least I always know where my list is in the main thread now.
Udari, thanks for the additional info. Our group is significantly bigger than ATY so, to Teri's point, finding the individual thread with hundreds or even thousands in the folder would be difficult. The admins are not necessarily opposed to it if enough people are interested, but it would not be something we, the admins, manage (outside of basic policing for appropriateness) once it has been set up. We'll revisit later this year when the 2021 list is closer to release.

This is my first time doing any reading challenge properly so I am new to things in different groups I follow. I am sorry if I created trouble, it was not my intension.
I have to say it was really nice getting a reply from the admins. Thank you!
Teri wrote: "We have the best admins! Udari, welcome to the challenge. It's lots of fun here."Thank you Teri. Yes I am really enjoying being part of a reading challenge.
Sara wrote: "Welcome to the group, Udari! There is never any harm in asking questions or making suggestions. :)"Thank you, Sara.
Udari, if you are doing ATY as well, that group really doesn't mind if you use your thread over there to plan other challenges too. I have Popsugar on my ATY thread where I can add extra ideas, but when it comes to my list in this group, I just add when I finish the book to keep it tidy.

Can I suggest prompts for future challenges somewhere?I was thinking
* A book about a Catholic priest, monk, nun, and I was thinking about The Little World of Don Camillo, Father Brown: The Essential Tales, One Corpse Too Many etc. There's surprisingly many books that fit this :-D
* Also, a lot of American countries previously owned by Spain declared their independence 1821, so I think that would be a good prompt:
Peru, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Mexico

Oh, The Goldfinch... :-(
I was SO EXITED to read it, it sounded good, it started so well, and then... uurrghh....
But I don't want this as a prompt :-D

Yes, please post suggestions here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
PopSugar has taken suggestions from this group in the past, so it's more likely they will see your ideas in this thread.
Hello, I discovered the Popsugar challenge this year and I decided to attempt to retroactively complete all the challenges for past years as well (over the next few years!). I swear that there used to be threads in the past years (2019-2016) for each prompt, but now I can't find/see them. Did they get archived somewhere? Thank you for your help!

They are all still here. You just have to scroll down. When you get to the bottom, click on "More discussions" and they all will appear. (I have no idea if this works on the app.) Sometimes I wonder if we should keep them or not - but posts like yours tell me we should :-)
Megan helpfully linked you to the Big List of all past prompts.
2015 prompts
2016 prompts
2017 prompts: regular and advanced
2018 prompts: regular and advanced
And I think the 2019 prompts are easier to find, they are right under all the 2020 folders.

They really should stay up as at least archived (closed) threads, if for no other reason than the past few years have had "favorite past prompt" as a prompt.

That's a great idea! I'll do the same!
How do you create the listopedia list and link for books that fit the prompts? It is really helpful to find the books and would like to see if this could be done in another challenge I will be in next year.
Kristine wrote: "How do you create the listopedia list and link for books that fit the prompts?”Click on ‘browse’ in toolbar at top of the page. Click on ‘lists’ in drop down menu. Click on ‘create new list’ in righthand toolbar. It’s best to make your topic short and to the point.
Kristine wrote: "How would do you add books to a list"
you create the list, include relevant key words so it's easy to search for later, and click SAVE. Then click on ADD BOOKS TO THIS LIST.
You can add and remove your own votes easily, but only a Goodreads Librarian can remove books that other people added.
Lists can be voted on by ANYONE, you cannot make them private.
You can delete a list you created - click on "edit" up on the top next to the title , and then on the bottom of the edit page you'll see "delete this list" - so go ahead and try it out, you can delete it when you're done.

Another question - I don’t think I can read 50 books. Can I set my own goal and change it if I read more. BTW - love the prompts. Really gives you something to think about when choosing a book. And thanks fir doing such an awesome job on this challenge.
