OH that would be cool!!! like in the time gap between the end of voldemort and the prolgue 19 years later. Explain how they all got there jobs. What they do any mishaps???
I honestly think that there should be multiple series coming out of the Harry Potter series including the 19 year time gap and The Children of Harry Potters main characters.
I think she should write a trilogy about Snape when he was at Hogwarts and how he got involved with the dark arts
I think she should write about their kids. I mean, I know the cursed child, but maybe an actual book series??

OMG! That would be so cool, I never thought of that!

Harry's story is told, and creating a series revolving around his children is just lame (one of the reasons why I'm not that hyped for the Cursed Child...that and the fact that it will be published in script form). When you have such a rich and magical universe built, you should explore other characters, time-lines, themes, etc... In that aspect, Fantastic Beasts movie is going to be awesome in my opinion. There are so many things I'd rather see other than the adventures of Harry's kids and their friends. I mean, there's Dumbledore's life (which would be a great book, with heavy focus on Grindelwald), the whole First Wizarding War (this would be an excellent setting for a much more adult and dark series with intrigue and backstabbing and spies and politics and the consequences of war, dealing with strong things such as racism), the founding of Hogwarts would also be interesting, Voldemort's journey from that little strange boy in the orphanage to becoming the Dark Lord, etc, etc... The possibilities are endless, and these stories would contribute a lot to enrich an already rich world.
Ravenpaw/claw~Alas! Earwax! Of course its happening in your head, but why should that mean it's not real? wrote: "you sure have a lot of reasons. which i shall not read because it is hating on JK Rowling!"There's no hate on Queen Rowling from me, I assure you. She's responsible for creating my favourite book series ever, no matter how many more books I read. And even though I say I'm not that hyped for Cursed Child, I still am really hyped. It's only that I would find it more interesting to read about other things, such as those I mentioned (yes, they weren't critics to JK, but things I would love to see her write), instead of reading a sequel to a series that had a proper ending.
Hmm. I don't really want to continue the series. I wanted it to be only about Harry, Ron and Hermione, and all those other characters until the 7th book. Not about the kids.... well okay maybe a little, but I was thinking that if they kept on going, wouldn't it be the same thing as before? A little more adventures at Hogwarts, New professers, but the same thing!
I think where it ended was perfect, however I would like a short series told by Lily Evans about her time at Hogwarts.
I don't really know. One of the tricks writers often fall into is the temptation to write more and when they do, the quality of writing inevitably begins to falter. And the more they build up their world, the more fans start to get their own ideas about how someone's untold story should be and they get upset when the author goes in a different direction. Jo can't write about every little thing and I don't really want her to. I love the mysteries. And I get scared the more she writes, the more she falls into the trick of saying too much or the more likely plot holes will become, as well as the fact it will eventually start to lose it's charm. I love the idea of her writing short stories for Pottermore, or giving us a little bit of new information here and there as well as answering questions, but I don't want any big new books. It would go on and on, and start going in circles. I think fans need to rely more on their own imagination instead of begging Jo to keep writing and writing. I think a good writer knows when to stop and leave things they way they were so perfectly.
It's nice to dream about, but as C.S. Lewis (another author of a seven-book children's series) observed, the only ways to end a series are before everyone's sick of it -- and the other is after.
I think she shouldn't even though she has. Cursed Child is enough. But I do want her to do something around Harry potter, such as Fantastic Beasts. If you get the Entertainment Magazine you know what I'm talking about. :-)
Hmmmm... BookishBoy, I don't think she's ruining them, but probably making things more complicating and as an example: Cursed Child was by by 2 other authors, not just by her. I really didn't like that.
I would like a book about Voldemort and how he became the Dark Lord. A book about the Marauders, Lily and Snape would be fun too.
It's funny how some franchises allow, encourage and pay for writers to write in the universe, like Star Wars and Star Trek, and others, like HP, don't. I can see being finished with writing about one world, but I love writing fanfic that looks back through history, and how the magical world interacted with real historical events. If Rowling doesn't want to do it, I'd love if the franchise was willing to pay others to.
I love Harry Potter, but I think that this story ended well. But, I do think that making new stories, with new characters and new plots (like Fantastic Beasts) is a good way to keep the Harry Potter excitement level high without overdoing what has been a beautiful, deep, and heartwarming/ heartbreaking story.
No. Harry Potter is perfect. The books/movies are all amazing.
I think that the Fantasic Beasts/Cursed Child franchises didn’t need to happen. They all feel like weaker, less interesting versions of HP. I didn’t get to know some of the characters as well as the originals. The original books are being ruined because of the new additions.
