ABANDONED. Children's book about a big scary rock

I was extremely little when I read this book (might have come out in the 90s), and I can remember it being about a big scary rock on an island? Not sure if it was actually a rock by the end of the book or if they just thought it was. I remember the illustrations being kind of in color (blue/green) and I was kind of terrified of it but remember being very happy at the end of it.

I would really love to know if anyone knows what this book is called. Thank you!
