I'm sure it's been done but The Infernal Devices and The Mortal Instruments. I am, regardless of if you guys pick it, I just thought it'd be fun since the tv show is coming in 2016! :)
I'd love to read "Walk the Earth a Stranger" by Rae Carson - it's the first in her new Gold Seer trilogy. Magic and the gold rush - what more do you want :D
