Jennifer Girardin | -2 comments Hello and season's greetings avid readers, writers & mystery enthusiasts!

I wanted to share a fun Christmas Crime poem, which will be featured in the upcoming Moriston House Mystery No. 5 Conversational Lies, which is set during the Christmas season.

There is something irresistible about cozy crime stories set at Christmas, and my poem, called "Death by Miss Adventure," is a tribute to the softer side of a fine literary tradition of crime.

Death by Miss Adventure:

“Murder,” she cried, and spied, and lied,
happily lying dead on the floor.
When asked who did it she came over rather rigid
and said “not the butler, Monsieur. ”
The cook, the maid, or the chap by the hedge?
“No,” she cried, still not quite dead.
The master, the mistress, or the golfer in tweed?
“No,” she cried, delighted to lie, casting her suspects with glee.
Then who, they gasped, unable to ask, their eyes glued to the page.
“The chap with the pen, who wanted to end
everything that once had been me.”

--From Algernon "Algy" Blake in the upcoming Moriston House Mystery by Jennifer A. Girardin, Conversational Lies.

Wishing everyone the very best of the season!

The one who killed was Jim the butler.
