How do Jenkins, et al define "participatory culture"? Do you agree/disagree/both/neither? Explain.

This question gets at the definitional heart of the issue. In other words do the authors' observations fit? And as an extra consideration--are they predictive?

They suggest that not everyone has to be participatory in a participatory cultural moment, right? But the shared culture and values that emerge from the ability of a group of people to discuss and debate and interact is key. Thus, it is not technological platforms that are participatory (something we often get confused by); it is the people using those platforms to engage in issues of shared interest. The technology could vanish (and it does) but the values and participation and ideas would remain (do they?). Still exploring my own views on all this.
