It's Friday night here on the east coast, which means it's the perfect time for a dinner party! But who has time for that in the middle of a read-a-thon?! Priorities, right?

So instead of a traditional dinner party, it's now time to host a literary one. You can invite any character you want but there are 10 different categories you need to fill. Here they are...

1. One character who can cook/likes to cook

2. One character who has money to fund the party

3. One character who might cause a scene

4. One character who is funny/amusing

5. One character who is super social/popular

6. One villain (to liven things up!)

7. One couple or pair (doesn't have to be romantic)

8. One hero/heroine

9. One under-appreciated character

10. One character of your own choosing

So who's on your guest list?

Jody (jodybell) | 531 comments 1. One character who can cook/likes to cook Molly Weasley from Harry Potter Boxset because she's used to cooking for a whole crew.

2. One character who has money to fund the party Bertie Wooster from My Man Jeeves.

3. One character who might cause a scene Stanley from A Streetcar Named Desire.

4. One character who is funny/amusing Fred & George from Harry Potter Boxset (they count as one!).

5. One character who is super social/popular Jay Gatsby from The Great Gatsby - maybe he'll marry me, I could certainly live as a kept woman, no problem at all. :)

6. One villain (to liven things up!) Tywin Lannister from A Game of Thrones, because I secretly have the hots for him ... the TV version, anyway (I think it's his voice).

7. One couple or pair (doesn't have to be romantic) Dumbledore from Harry Potter Boxset and Gandalf from The Lord of the Rings, because who wouldn't want a pair of wizards at dinner?

8. One hero/heroine Offred from The Handmaid's Tale so I could squirrel her away to safety.

9. One under-appreciated character Snape from Harry Potter Boxset because SNAPE. <3

10. One character of your own choosing Celie from The Color Purple, because she deserves a party.

Marta (gezemice) Very nice parties! Glad to see that Tyrion is so popular... Tywin, yeah, would be pretty awesome although I might feel a bit intimidated. Love the character choices from The Color Purple, too - who wouldn't want Shug and Celie around.

But Jody, SNAPE is my favorite. Always loved Snape.

This is a bit difficult, but I will give it a crack.

1. One character who can cook/likes to cook
By all accounts, Tita from Like Water for Chocolate cooks delicious food with magical powers that I would love to taste.

2. One character who has money to fund the party
This is tough. I think I am going for Lord Vetinari

3. One character who might cause a scene
Granny Weatherwax!

4. One character who is funny/amusing
Tyrion Lannister carries the vote on this one.

5. One character who is super social/popular
Captain Carrot... I know I am going all Discworld here but I can't help it. Either him or Nanny Ogg!

6. One villain (to liven things up!)
This is tough... most villains you just don't want to hang out with. If Littlefinger counts as a villain, I take him - he can carry an intelligent conversation.

7. One couple or pair (doesn't have to be romantic)
I like the idea of the wizard pair, but don't want to be a copycat. I'll take Jane Eyre and Mr. Rochester, those two carry a quite remarkable conversation.

8. One hero/heroine
Does Elizabeth I counts as a heroine? She would knock our socks off.

9. One under-appreciated character
I must go with Snape here... because, SNAPE.

10. One character of your own choosing
Tina Fey... well, she is the Bossypants, right?
