Melody (runningtune) | 13278 comments What do you think we should do about Goodreads authors like these? Note how their names are listed:

Nothing. As GR Authors they can choose to ignore the local practice, within reason.

Of course, you are welcome to message them and mention that they are not listing their name in the usual manner, but I'd guess they realize as much.

Mostly, just stay extra vigilant for new records in the database with their published names instead of their fancy user names.

I'm a little concerned about this one, though: Author-Poet Aberjhani is the same person as (Aberjhani, Editor), but Author-Poet Aberjhani created that second author profile deliberately and filled it in with different information. The profiles should be merged, but I'm not sure how to do it politely....

Good catch. Got it. (That is to say, I felt that was enough over the line that I went ahead and merged them.)

Lobstergirl I tried to correct this GR author's name (it's Fiona Pitt-Kethley) but I see it's not possible. Can a super do it?

message 6: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 963 comments I fixed it for you by just editing the book, since there was only one under that name.

Lobstergirl Thanks!
