20.8 - Nickels & Dimes - Elizabeth B's task: December's Celebrations
December is a month full of celebrations. Beyond Christmas and New Year's Eve, I'm celebrating my birthday and several countries celebrate either their national day or something different.

Based on some other celebrations choose one option and read ONE book:

Required: State which option you used when you post.

Option 1: Boxing Day (December 26th) - is a holiday traditionally celebrated the day following Christmas Day, when servants and tradesmen would receive gifts, known as a "Christmas box", from their bosses or employers*

For this option, read a book with the word BOX found intact in the title/subtitle, or that has a boxer as a main character (MMA fighters are also acceptable).

Option 2: International Day of People with Disability (December 3rd) - is an international observance promoted by the United Nations since 1992*.

For this option, read a book with the genre "Disability" on the main page. The genre may stand alone or be embedded.

Option 3: Human Rights Day - is celebrated annually across the world on 10 December.
Read a book from this list: Essential Non-Fiction Reading Re: Human Rights.
Required: Indicate which page of the list your book can be found on when you post.

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 3766 comments Does this qualify as a "boxer main character"
On the Ropes ?

The GR description says the main character is "moonlighting as a heavyweight fighter."

It also says: "... fighting ex-Olympians in the boxing ring...", so it qualifies. Enjoy!

Tara Bieck | 433 comments Would this one work for option 1?
Dirty English by Ilsa Madden-Mills

Description lists MC as a street fighter...he fights in Underground MMA fights. It also has multiple tags as MMA Fighter.

Thanks in advance.

Ashley Does boxing need to be their career or can it be more recreational? Ie. MC is a teenager and spends a lot of time at the gym boxing - there are lots of scenes based at the boxing gym

It's fine if there's boxing in the story.
