Yo, Pratchett fans, aside from the Hogfather what Discworld books prodded serious buttock, and who are you favourite characters?

Me, I love the Witches, especially the classic trio of Weatherwax, Ogg and Magrat. I'd recommend Witches Abroad to anyone with a sense of humour.

Also, Sam Vimes.

This is quite the difficult question. I love so many of them and their interaction. From smaller characters like Gaspode and CMOT Dibbler.
Rincewind has a nostalgic feeling from the point and click games.

As for books, I sometimes mix them all up. I'd say Guards, Guards is a solid pick for Discworld beginners.

p.s. I'd vote for Vetinari as Portugal's PM.

You just need de some Sapient pearwoood.
I agree, and because these characters appear so many times, from protagonists to almost extras in the book, they are very complete.
of course there are less interesting stories with them.
I think the weaker Discworld I've read was Moving Pictures.

I'd prefer to have the Luggage to Back to the Future hoverboards...
