Shallon J | 25 comments Hey everyone! I wanted to know Have any of you all met an author that you really enjoyed the writing of? Or do you have any signed books? I have some and wanted to know if anyone else did and if so, which books?

I have the books Iron Trial by Cassie Clare and Holly Black signed, as well as the Maze Runner by James Dashner, Looking For Alaska by John Green, and Four by Veronica Roth.

I also am friends with the author Allan Wolf who is a poet and I'm going to have him sign a few of the books I own by him once I see him next. :D Comment books that you have signed please or authors you have met. I'd love to know! ;D

Leah Jay (leahandherlibrary) | 9 comments Did you get The Iron Trial signed by both authors?
That's a pretty neat collection you have! All I have is Before You Meet Prince Charming by Sarah Mally signed, because I bought the book at one if her conferences. Hopefully I'll be going to some more book conferences in the future so I can get some signatures!

antoanaxo | 2 comments I don't know if many of you guys are from Britain but in the summer of 2014 I met a well known author called Michael Morpurgo. I bought Little Manfred and he signed it. Last summer I also met Luke Temple who I hadn't heard of before and got one of his first books signed, " Felix Dashwood and the Traitor's Treasure". I want to meet more authors. Oh well.

BookPusher D (bookpusherd) Veronica Roth is one of my bucket list authors :) So cool, Shallon.

I have all of my TMI and TID books signed by Cassie. I have met her twice. At her signings I met Holly Black, Maureen Johnson, and Sarah Rees Brennan. I also met Sherrilyn Kenyon twice and have many of my Dark-Hunter and Chronicles of Nick books signed. She is such a fun author to meet. She takes her time and gets to know each one of her fans, and she stays till she has met each person there.... even if she has to take the signing outside because the venue is closed. And this year I met Stephenie Meyer and she signed Life & Death and Breaking Dawn.
I also have a Dune poster signed by Brian Herbert, who is the continuing author and son of the late Frank Herbert, origional author of The Dune Chronicles. I also have a copy of Hello, I love You signed by Katie M. Stout, because I preordered it. I corresponded with her via her blog before she was pubished. She is such a sweet person, but people hated on her because the story wasn't "PC" enough for them. I was sad when I read her blog posts that she might not write again because of the haters.

There aren't many signings where I live because of a huge con in my city, and I work that event so my opportunities are slim to meet authors. If anyone gets the opportunity to go to a signing you should go! They are soo much fun. Waiting for hours with fans of the same books you love is an amazing experience :D

I have a vid of Cassie reading the Jace POV of the first kiss deleted scene, and a Q&A of Sherrilyn if anyone is interested.

Happy Holiday Reading

Michelle I haven't met any authors, though I NEED TO MEET CASSANDRA CLARE!!!
I have some books, here's what I have:
Magnus Chase by Rick Riordan
Winter by Marissa Meyer
A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas

I REALLY REALLY want Lady Midnight to be signed by Cassie. I preordered it. It's coming in March, but idk if it'll be signed cuz I've never preordered a book. I need it to be first edition (meaning that it's the first batch of books that the publisher prints) cuz it'll have a short story in the end with a marriage proposal. And there will be a stamped rune on the first page or something.

Sheila Cronin When I worked in the cruise industry I was onboard escort to James A. Michener and his wife on an Alaskan cruise. I sat and handed him copies of his newest book ALASKA for 2 book signings. To check out the photo of us on my website: and click Bio. He graciously gave me a signed copy of ALASKA.

BookPusher D (bookpusherd) Ok so I see a bunch of comments of fans wanting to meet authors. It is really easy, especially if they have a new book coming out. I thought I'd never meet Cassie or Sherrilyn Kenyon, but I did... here are two great tips for meeting authors.

1. Sign up for mailing lists of bookstores in your area that host signings. So you are always informed of if and when an author is doing a signing there.

If your local bookstore does not host signings...

2. Ask them if they would. All they have to do is contact the author's publisher. The contact info is always on the author's website. If the bookstore will not host a signing, talk to your library.

Cassie had a signing booked by a library an hr away from me for Clockwork Princess. Sherrilyn Kenyon came to my local B&N because I requested her, and her publisher was excited to have a westcoast interest. The following yr, she requested to have another signing at the B&N! I hope it will be a permanent event ;D

Give it a try. Publishers like to send their authors to new places to get more exposure, and each new book usually comes with a signing tour. The authors usually have no say (except Sherri it seems) as to where they have a signing. It is all the publisher..and they always say to have your local bookstore cotact them. It actually works.

If any of you give it a try, please let me know how this work out.

Happy Reading and Good Luck
