Nominate one (1) high fantasy work for our January read. In print is considered a nice touch.

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) | 132 comments How about The Deed of Paksenarrion? I know, I know I'm well known for loving the book but thought I'd nominate it.

Certainly fits the criterion!

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) | 132 comments Haven't read that one yet.

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) | 132 comments Yeah, I actually recommended it to someone once (not a "fantasy reader") who objected that it was High fantasy. I'm not sure to this day why that was an objection.

Carbonel | 4 comments My suggestion: The High King by Lloyd Alexander. Who coined the term High Fantasy in the first place.

Hmm. The only complication I see there is that The High King is the end of a five-book series. Those who haven't read the earlier ones may not get it.

Kamas Kirian (kamas716) One of my favorites has been The Dragonbone Chair

Would Barbara Hambly's The Silent Tower qualify?

Paul Howard | 64 comments IMO The Silent Tower, while good, isn't High Fantasy but my "say" doesn't matter as far as "putting it on this list". [Smile]

I don't think so. Besides, you can only nominate one of them.

You could nominate a theme that would include Silent Tower next month. 0:)
