The old merchants shifted their goods over the tables. Baskets filled with ivory and gems, exotic foods like mangoes and passion fruit, marked by the bushels off the sea voyages, and beautiful tapestries woven with silk and thread hung from a long tether line. The air smelt of sweetness and strong perfumes. Iris patted her horse and turned to the open tents. An elderly wise man caught her attention:

Alexis wandered around, taking her time because she didn't really feel like going back yet.

Aeron wandered into the marketplace and caught sight of Alexis. "Hello!" they called out, striding over.

Alexis turned around. "You?"

"Huh?" Aeron paused, then continued. "Doun's looking for you, and the bread he sent you to get." they blinked a moment. "Do you know me?"

"I saw you at the bar before, remember?" Alexis said. "He made you come get me, eh? Well you can tell him I'm almost done."

"Right!" Aeron tapped one hand against their forehead. "Silly me. Doun also sent me to get more wine." they added. "Do you know which vendor he usually goes to?"

"That one, over there," she pointed.

Following the line of her finger, Aeron wandered over and purchased several good bottles. "This should do it. We should probably head back."

Alexis nodded and scanned the area. "Yeah, we should probably go."

"Lead the way?" Aeron tipped their head to one side.

Alexis nodded and started back.
