Juliet Stempler In this book Catherine experienced a major external conflict, her brother. David needs much help with his everyday life and Catherine is usually the one who helps him. Sometimes Catherine needs to pick between her brother and her friends, this is very hard because she loves her brother but sometimes she has had enough and needs a social life. External conflicts reveal characters like it did for Catherine.
Any thoughts?

Kaleigh I think you are right about David being Catherine's external conflict. Also, I think Catherine's character is revealed by the ways she reacts to David's behavior.

Juliet Stempler Totally! I never really thought about it that way. It's kind of like David brings out a bad side of Catherine that isn't revealed in any other scenario. She has to deal with him and it can be very difficult sometimes. Thank you for bringing up that excellent point!
