Welcome!

Michelle (michellevoorhees) | 111 comments Two books down (Gift of the Magi & Tree Grows in Brooklyn) and more than halfway through the third (Hobbit). I also finished Handmaid's Tale for my old/new challenge, but I'm aiming to keep my challenges separate. :) If I can keep this up, I should get caught up on tons of books this year!

Michelle (michellevoorhees) | 111 comments Susie - Yes, Gift of the Magi was good, although I wish it was longer.

Pink - Thanks :) We'll see how long I can keep it up. I seem to go through spurts of reading...lol.

Andrea AKA Catsos Person (catsosperson) | 1791 comments Wow! You are making good progress!

Congrats on your first bingo.

Powder River Rose (powderriverrose) | 152 comments Good job!! What did you think of Jungle Book?

message 12: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (michellevoorhees) | 111 comments Thanks everybody! The Jungle Book was good overall, never realized before that it consisted of multiple stories. There was one about elephants that made me a little sad. The main story, with Mowgli, was interesting, with only a few variations from the Disney movie. Overall, it was a 3 star read for me - worth reading, but not one of my favorites.

Susie | 731 comments Good for you...first bingo!

message 14: by Pink (new)

Pink | 6556 comments You're doing great! I didn't like the Jungle Book very much, I think I had the disney version stuck in my head too much.

So nice to find a new favorite -- and nice job on getting your squares filled.

Michelle (michellevoorhees) | 111 comments Thanks Kathy! Yes, I read Slaughterhouse-Five last year and it was good, but I am enjoying Breakfast of Champions so much more! I love that it is somewhat autobiographical, yet still so completely random and exploratory at the same time. His wit is addictive. :) I definitely will be seeking out the rest of Vonnegut's works to see if they measure up.
