Jeff Potter (jeffpotter) | 4 comments Hello!

1) Is it possible to have the second edition show up when someone searches for "Cooking for Geeks" or clicks the book? I.e. the default edition should be:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
Not:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/7...
And right now, when doing a search on the site, there's no way to really notice there's a second edition.

2) The cover being displayed isn't the final cover. The final one is at:
http://static.cookingforgeeks.com/boo...

3) The subtitle of the book changed between first and second edition, so that should probably be updated as well by a librarian.

Thanks!

-Jeff

Bea 1. Goodreads Authors can now choose which edition they want to be the default edition for their books. Goodreads Authors (and Goodreads Employees) are the only people who can use this feature, and they can only do so for books on which they are the primary author.

To use this feature, go to the edition you wish to set as the default, and click the "edit" link. On the edition's edit page there will be a link on the right side, about mid-way down the page and just before the link to refresh stats, to "Set this book as the primary edition for this work".

Bea 2. Was the cover that is showing ever published even as an ARC?

Nevermind, this one seems to have been taken care of.

3. Likewise, this one seems done.

Jeff Potter (jeffpotter) | 4 comments Hi Bea,

Thanks for the reply -- I was able to go in and edit the edition to be "preferred."

The cover image is still wrong, though. It wasn't used in an ARC, it was a draft cover that was never printed. I think the publisher may have had it in metadata for a while.

I see that I can upload images, but the image upload says NOT to use it for covers.

Let me know if this is something I can help with? Thanks so much!

best,
Jeff
