this book is part of a paranormal romance book series. I may have read it between 2010 and 2013 and it must have been published around the same time. it was an ebook. the story was about this lady who was helping her friend and the friend's child (whose story is featured in the previous book) escape from some kind of danger (she was running away herself) and trying to save the child she was injured and ended up almost dying. she had been previously attacked by some rogue and raped, and was pregnant. when she was trying to help her friend she was injured again and in came the male lead who made a binding spell in order to save her life.
they were bound together. she was upset and didn't adjust to the new life and initially blamed the man because she lost the baby she was carrying.
i think they were mates or lifemates. in this series of book all the couples were mated. i am not sure if they were shifters or vampires but they lived like a big family all in the same place.

Nope. I have read them all and i remember. I have been searching this book for awhile. I am quite certain it is not a work of a very known and popular pnr authors. I think the story unfolds in the US.

unfortunately it is not any of those mentioned above. I have just checked them all but it doesn't seem like it. I am pretty sure it was not about dragon shifters.

Is there a long pause (months/years) between when the binding occurs and when she finally begins to accept him into her life? Also, is there much magic involved, and if so, what kind? The summary you provided is really tickling my memory. Any other facts that, no matter how small, you can give?

Yes she took her time before accepting him into her life. she survived for awhile because of the binding, she was very upset in the beginning.
I remember she thought he didn't save her baby because he didn't want it but then later she realized that he didn't have any choice. (it was either to lose her or to lose both her and the baby)
I don't remember much. If I am not wrong, their first meeting happened while she, her friend and the friend's child were escaping from some dangerous rogues and when they were attacked she tried to help the child of her friend and she was injured so heavily she was dying. he met her then, i think he realized she was his mate. the whole attack happened in the woods near some cave maybe. she was human. i am not sure why but i imagine the cover of this book blue (it might be just my imagination). I am at least 90% sure the setting is not in Europe.
he took her to his house. in the book there were other couples who were featured in the previous books.
I am not sure if magic is involved. this is all the information I can provide unfortunately.

i have read Lynsay Sands books and to be sure I just checked the plot for each of them and nothing is similar to the book I'm looking for..

the more I think about it, I wonder if its a werewolf romance story..

Was it a short story or novella and published? I found Wild Instinct and Daire's and Tori's story sounds a lot like the one you described.
