Susan I think I will count The Girl Who Married the Moon: Tales from Native North America for this one.
It sounds magical, sweet, and ethereal.
The tale the title is named after, I thought, was a very lovely story. The book, on the whole, was just good in my opinion.

The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson

I love the title, it's so simple, and it just reminds that we r all under the same canopy, everyone is in pain, in their own relationships, their own ups and downs, it's everywhere.

I have heard such great things about this book, just had to pick it up. Even though, I also inclined toward other titles. I hope it lives up to its reputation.

Someone to Watch Over Me by Lisa Kleypas
In your opinion, what makes this a beautiful title?
It reminds me of the song by Ella Fitzgerald, and I love that beautiful, sultry song!
Was the book good enough to deserve such a beautiful title
It was good, but not as memorable. 3 star book, 5 star song.

Ghostly Echoes

In your opinion, what makes this a beautiful title?
I love the idea that things in the past are not gone, but continue to echo and affect the world. Just because you can't see them or hear them, does not make them any less real. They're now just ghostly echoes

Was the book good enough to deserve such a beautiful title?
I think so. I'm just about done it and quite satisfied.

Poems That Make Grown Men Cry: 100 Men on the Words That Move Them

In your opinion, what makes this a beautiful title?
Just the thought of grown men crying, being as how most men say they don't cry.

Was the book good enough to deserve such a beautiful title?
I will let you know.

A Fall of Marigolds by Susan Meissner

In your opinion, what makes this a beautiful title?
It actually refers to a design that one of the title characters notices on a woman's scarf that is worn by a man, which is a cascade of marigold flowers against a reddish-orange background. But when a friend first recommended the novel, the title reminded me of a beautiful autumn season filled with these lovely flowers.

Was the book good enough to deserve such a beautiful title?
From what I've read so far, the title, which contains that double meaning, seems perfectly fitting for the novel.

Just finished this and sorry to say, I really didn't like it. I didn't like Clara's character too much and there wasn't enough of Taryn to keep both stories equal and afloat. But there was one great quote that I loved, written by Andrew Gwynn's father to his two sons in that letter :))

message 61: by Alexis (new)

Alexis For this week I read Nicola Yoon's The Sun Is Also a Star. In my opinion, a beautiful title is one that has a certain cadence, particularly five-six word titles. This book was absolutely beautiful enough to deserve this title.

Everything Is Illuminated by Jonathan Safran Foer

I just think it is a beautiful phrase/idea/thought

-Was the book good enough to deserve such a beautiful title?
I'm only halfway...but yes. The Ukrainian character's attempts to write in English (it's his second language) are hilarious - the author's wordplay has had me lol-ing in public :)

The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Díaz
In your opinion, what makes this a beautiful title?
The word wondrous isn't used very often, and never really to describe someone's life.
Was the book good enough to deserve such a beautiful title?
I loved this book, so definitely.

Silvia Turcios | 1058 comments -What are you reading this week? A Thousand Pieces of You

-In your opinion, what makes this a beautiful title? What I thought is that she was going to travel in time and find little things that make her remember of the loved person. A thousand details that make him special. It was not about what I imagined.

-Was the book good enough to deserve such a beautiful title? It was good. I enjoyed very much the Russia part, but after a while it got repetitive. But I guess it deserve the name.
