So what is everyone reading now? Currently I'm reading Game of Thrones book 4 and a Book called Love is a Mix tape...they're both really great!

I'm reading The Returned (the book that the new ABC hit show Resurrection is modeled after). Interesting so far!
the people getting killed wasn't what frustrated me. what frustrated me was all the buildup to battle or something equally interesting and then that event would just be glossed over. 12 years between book 4 and 5 and who knows when we will get book 6. so much feels up in the air. I don't want to say too many specifics in case you didn't read a far.
GOT is a great series, never been in a book club before (awesome) hope I don't look a odd with you ladies being a guy and all, I ain't weird.....honest :)
I really want to read GoT, but I haven't yet because I'm one of those people who just can't stand the wait between books! I refuse to read a series if it isn't finished yet!I'm currently reading The Cuckoo's Calling. J.K Rowling seriously saved my sanity. If it wasn't for the Harry Potter books I'm pretty sure I would have turned into a serial killer because of my childhood.
I wanted to wait until all the books were out myself because i need to read things in order myself but my bf insisted i start them and now i can't stop! I also loved the harry potter series myself.
I just finished Life, Motherhood & the Pursuit of the Perfect Handbag. I can't wait to start the new Lisa Scottoline book on April 8th.
I just finished "The Book Thief" One of the best books I have read in a very long time. The book is very well written
I'm currently re-reading the Chesapeake Bay series by Nora Roberts. Thanks so much for the group suggestion Rebecca! Perfecto!
It is about a young girl who is assaulted by her boyfriend and ends up pregnant. His brother steps in and marries her. Just a knight in shining armor, happily everafter kind of book :)
I just started reading "The Rockin' Chair" by Steven Manchester. Already starting out sad, Lord help me through this book.

I don't know if I can handle sad!

Thanks for the author name!
Thanks for the author name!
I know. I pick books and sometimes I really have to work to get through it. I hate starting a book and not finishing it. It just doesn't feel right to me :)
Finished this one right before they announced the series. I liked the book better than the series so far. Rebecca wrote: "Terri wrote: "The Returned is by Jason Mott. (The book from the tv show Resurrection)"

I have that book next to read once I finish the Fannie Flag one from our project.
I usually always like the books better than the movies or TV shows. Have been enjoying the Resurrection series though. (Guess it was also a TV show in France and you can get it on DVD from the library in French with English subtitles)
Enjoyed Harry Potter books but not so much the movies, same with Twilight. Hummm wonder how 50 Shades will stack up? LOL
I bought all three of the books digitally and have only read the first one....seriously! so I know I would not be going to the movie.
So glad more feel like me. there was so much hype and media attention that I thought I was strange to think they were not good. give me a good romance that uses my imagination or comedy in any book or movie and I am happy!
I tried to read the first several times and my opinion each time was that it felt like a teenage girl wrote it, very juvenile in the language...some of it, I don't know any teenage girl like that. It just felt over the top.
it took me forever to get thru the first 50 shades book so there was no way would I waste time on the other two, it WAS very juvenile. anyone on here that wants to read them I can email the PDFs I purchased and they can put on their tablets...do not blame me for the brain atrophy LOL I really enjoyed all the Harry Potter books back in the day and I was in my 30's or early 40s, they had depth and stuff that I am sure was over kids heads but that adults could read into it. IMO
I have about 80 pages left of our current read. loving it. should be done but meetings and life happens. will be done by weeks end then check the spoiler thread :)
Reading "The Goldfinch" but it may be too dark for a May book. I have on deck "The Husband's Secret" but read "the Girl Who Came Home: a Titanic Novel". TGWCH would be very good for May. It is a very good book with under stories entwined, not history really just related to that.
Hi All - I just joined this group.I just finished the 1st book in the 'All Souls Trilogy',
last week, and have started the 2nd book
, which I am loving!
my vote is for the Girl Who Came Home: a Titanic Novel after reading the reviews on here. Plus it ties into the Toledo exhibit. love getting all the recommendations from this group.
I just finished Sparrow Migrations. It ties together three unrelated people with direct ties to the 'miracle on the Hudson'. Really good story, plus it ties in bird watching, one of my hobbies.

Reading DETROIT: An American Autopsy by Charlie LeDuff. It goes quickly and by the title is not a summer read or a beach novel. But, it is surprisingly funny and irreverently humorous while still describing how Detroit implodes financially and other cities in the U.S. could yet follow its grim path. Charlie LeDuff deserves credit for a real look at our era without blinking. This book is not for the faint of heart.
Older book, but the series Capital Crimes: I just finished Margaret Truman's EXPERIMENT IN MURDER by Donald Bain, 3 stars. I'm currently reading BIG LITTLE LIES by Liane Moriarty. The second may be a mystery too. Good luck. lc
