The Girl Who Leapt Through Time by Yasutaka Tsutsui

I haven't read this book before, but I watched the live-action Japanese movie loosely based on this (I think the movie was more of a sequel than a direct adaptation).
My expectations are hoping for a good read, but from the feel of the movie I think I may be in for a sad ending :(

Really quick read. It was more of a collection of two "short" stories (or perhaps novellas). The first and main one ("The Girl Who Leapt Through Time") was my favourite. It was a little melancholy, but I liked it :)

I saw the movie (anime) and liked it a lot, I didn't know there was a book. I want to read it! I think it must be really interesting :)

The book is definitly more of a short story, it was interesting and pretty similar to the live action movie. I don't know how it compares with the anime.

Since the story was originally written in the 1960s or so, there were a few points that aged it (they talk about "tapes" in relation to computers at one point, for example), and some parts of it (translation-wise) are cringe-worthly. However, I enjoyed it :)
