Hi I'm Diana S both on GR and Shelfari.
I try to read some classics each year. Later this month I plan on reading Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte. I do have a goal to read 10 classics for the year.
Hello, I'm Beverly. Love to read and hope to settle in more comfortably soon--I already miss Shelfari so badly. I belong to 7 book clubs at my local library so read a large variety of books but love being exposed to things I would never have read otherwise. I am challenging myself with 25 reads but hoping for more.

It's a great way to hear about other great books and find out what other people you trust think of books. Michelle will still keep challenging us, thank goodness.

At the moment I feel like I'm not reading anything for myself, just reading for groups, buddy reads, or trying to catch up on Classics that I "need" to read. I like to read with others, but I want to read some fun stuff "just for me" too. I don't know how you fit that in! :)

But I always feel "behind" in reading everything I want to. Your lists are not too shabby!! Still waiting for you to come have lunch with me. Maybe I'll have to drive to north--the road does go both ways!!! :)

I try to only read books I'm pretty sure I'll really like....but they don't always fit, do they? Plus, like you, I'm trying to read the classics I haven't already tackled. Those don't always appeal...

Hi - I was Jerseygirl over on Shelfari...I'm Jan on Leafmarks. I didn't know if any other group was coming over here - so many have gone to Leafmarks so I changed my name to the alias I use in my Anglophiles Anonymous group which did transfer over here. I am still getting used to both sites and I'm not sure I'll survive but for now, I'm here.

I've hardly written any reviews since the move started, and have read fewer books. I feel so scattered. But I enjoy these groups, so I'll try to hang in there. We'll get used to it some time. I'm trying out both Leafmarks and Goodreads, but don't know if I'll continue with both.
Hello, I'm Meregwyn
I found your group when I did a search for classic books and thought this sounded perfect.
After six weeks I just finished Our Mutual Friend by Charles Dickens and loved every moment of it. I had a difficult time not starting over once I finished. I also just finished To The Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf. Another favorite of mine and my second book read by Virginia Woolf.
I'm looking forward this year to completing more of my British classics (I tend to gravitate more towards 19th century British authors).

Hi, I'm Jaleenajo here and on Shelfari. One of my reading goals for this year is to get back into reading classics, something I haven't done much of in the past few years. Last year the only classic I read was Northanger Abbey. Hopefully I can make 2016 the year that fixes that!

But even though I read quite few classics last year, I always seem to have a pile of them that I still need/want to read!

My classics TBR pile is getting pretty huge...I just bought a copy of War and Peace and am waiting to feel ambitious enough to start it!

I watched the mini-series recently and I think after seeing the characters on TV, it will help me remember all the names (since I have faces to go with them) and maybe I'll also understand the story line a little better. But I'm like you, I'm not sure when I'll feel ambitious enough to start it!

I think we've lost our administer in this group. But if you like reading Classics, there is a very active group called "Catching Up on Classics and Lots More" that I think you'd really like!
Join us there! Here is a link -- I hope it gets you there OK :)
