Kate (butterflie0405) | 7 comments Can anyone recommend the best Rendell standalone for an introduction to her work? I don't like to start out on an author with a series, because...what if I don't like it? Then I'll be stuck reading a series to find out what happens. Ha! So, if anyone can give me a recommendation on a really good standalone by Ms. Rendell, so I can get my feet wet, that'd be great.

Of course, if she's as wonderful as GReaders seem to think, I'll probably eventually move on to series. But to begin with, I would like to start small.

Thanks for reading!

Anne, you might want to try Adam and Eve and Pinch Me as a standalone to start or even better, A Judgement in Stone. We do have a Ruth Rendell thread going so you might also want to check there.

Nope -- don't worry about deleting it -- I was just calling attention to other people's recommendations. No biggie!
