That sounds awesome

message 302: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking, but we'll also need to design the outside world.

message 303: by ӍдѕҞa (new)

Awesome { mainly because I really want to make a mage assassin [been watching this one anime, the assassin in there is sooo fucken cool. Literally planning on having the assassin have multiple forms for each 'personality' etc] Which is why I wanted to ask}

{Also I've having problems with my keyboard so literally can't use like any numbers, exclamation mark, and a few others including the normal brackets so... if I randomly rage that's why} I CAN"T EVEN DO FUCKEN STARS... ^growls^

Well we'd need to decide how close to reality we want to make the outside world along with how far we want to make the expansion. Like who knows, maybe the outside world had succumbed to an 'apocalypse' and is just recovering... so yeah.

message 304: by [deleted user] (new)

Cool!

My condolences.

Well, if it's been 1000 years since the city's walls were erected, and that happened in the 1700s, then we definitely need it to be the future. But positive or negative or a mixture of both? And do aliens exist or no? Has earth been conquered? Some sort of cyberpunk world? Steampunk?

message 305: by KT (new)

KT (queenlykt) | 866 comments Mod
I love both cyber and steampunk so oh my god either one hell yes

^freaking out^ I KNOW RIGHT I'm pumped

It is so irritating. I hope I can fix it or I will go nuts.

I think maybe a mixture of both..? To make it more easier for us, I think there shouldn't be any aliens {though it would be so cool to experiment with that}
I think it would be pretty cool if like only mainly major cities still existed and everywhere else was taken by nature, and with like a steam punk element would make it so cool^exclamation mark^

message 307: by [deleted user] (new)

Cool!

Being able to fix it would be good.

That sounds good to me

message 308: by [deleted user] (new)

@Elf Sure, i'll do it on my laptop tomorrow morning.

@Maska I think we should let the roleplay progress a bit more?? Idk

Denver -writes poems drinks wine- | 260 comments Mod
Ahhhh this would be so so cool!!

Also @ Maska I posted in Ebony's thing(:
And I agree with Tinath that maybe we should let it progress a bit more!

:D

It would be heavenly, I raged at lunch cause more buttons were going haywire.

:D Awesome. We'd probably have to ask all the mods though about it.

@Tinath
If we leave planning for the outside world to last minute it would be hectic and complicated which is why it's good to get some discussion about it done earlier.

@Denver
I'll post as soon as I can don't worry!

Ohhh how are we going to add this "outside of the wall" piece?

message 312: by [deleted user] (new)

We're going to add it with the fall of the wall. We need to figure out why the wall falls.

message 313: by [deleted user] (new)

Well, i was studying history today and I got an idea. The Roman Empire fell not just because of barbarians but because their 'government' was disorganized too. So the wall could fall because of the rogue resistance AND the council's faiure to 'reign' the resistance in.

This is just the gist of course. ^-^ we can discuss the specifics later on.

message 314: by [deleted user] (new)

Yep, and one of the major functions of the gladiator games was to distract the people. They also started to hire foreign mercenaries so they didn't have an army that was actually loyal to Rome.

As for the city council, I know Nyco Drake wants the resistance to stay because she would rather the citizens be organized in that than be in a new group she can't predict.

message 315: by [deleted user] (new)

Also , you mentioned Rome to a Rome nerd. Only reason last message was so short is that I didn't have time to write more. The Roman Empire also divided in two parts because it had grown too large to be governed by the ineffective government. Additionally, the empire started to diverge which resulted in not enough aid from the Byzantines to save Rome.

message 316: by [deleted user] (new)

Lolol I suck at History. I just started the chapter XD

So will we be following that gist or-?

message 317: by [deleted user] (new)

I am probably going to do something with history as an adult. I don't know. I just love Rome.

Probably

I have a few thoughts that have will have to write out later

message 318: by [deleted user] (new)

Well, you could always be a professor or historian. For me, i was born to be an architect. ^-^

Coolsies.

message 319: by [deleted user] (new)

Maybe. That's cool! That's something I couldn't do.

:)

message 320: by [deleted user] (new)

Well, I'll be in college soon so I have to figure out my major and I decided to go with that. Hopefully its a good choice.

So what about our events plan?

message 321: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm starting in a year or two ish (depends if you count the year I'll be dual enrolled). I need to figure something out, too.

I'm not sure.

message 322: by [deleted user] (new)

We need all our council (both sides) people for sure. Should we make a date they all have to be at least started on by?

message 323: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm thinking maybe when the wall falls, one of the various councils or the resistance calls a truce and a meeting between all the various sides to figure out what to do because if they keep going, the city will be ash. (I could see Nyco Drake --after she's supposedly dead-- being the one to do that) So maybe they basically destroy each other and the city before that? I don't know if the various leaders/members would agree to that though.

message 324: by [deleted user] (new)

Hmmm its an idea to consider but a bit far fetched if you ask me. The probabilities are minimal.

message 325: by [deleted user] (new)

Maybe she tries it, but it fails utterly?

message 326: by KT (new)

KT (queenlykt) | 866 comments Mod
My resistance council member is definitely and completely down for a truce.
My council of nine member will probably go for it. Provided she can stay in power, because she thinks that if she doesn't have the power and scary reputation she has now she'll get enslaved again.

message 327: by [deleted user] (new)

I think Nyco Drake will want to lead an expedition out of the city, so she'd still have power what would be out of city politics for a while which would make peace a little easier, too.

message 328: by [deleted user] (new)

I could see it happening maybe very begrudgingly under a "There will be nothing left if we keep this up," but that might fails despite attempts.

message 329: by [deleted user] (new)

Isis might go for it, if she compares the pros and cons and sees who's up for it and who's not. But inside she probably won't support it.
Snow would definitely support it.

I think it all depends not only on the leadership characters but the influential too.

message 330: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah, maybe the leaders go for it but the people don't?

message 331: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes, so it would be like a conflict.

message 332: by [deleted user] (new)

A whole new conflict with the sides rather different. The outside may be a good thing for them after all! XD

message 333: by [deleted user] (new)

XD But I have a question; once the wall falls, what's gonna be on the other side of it?

message 334: by ӍдѕҞa (new)

ӍдѕҞa (whichsidewillyouchoose) | 1876 comments Mod
We were talking about that up above

message 335: by [deleted user] (new)

Well, yes, but what I meant was, if there are other cities beyond the wall we have to take into account of their reaction when the wall falls

message 336: by ӍдѕҞa (new)

ӍдѕҞa (whichsidewillyouchoose) | 1876 comments Mod
it would depend how close the nearest city is and even if they're aware of this city in general.

message 337: by [deleted user] (new)

Well, it's takig llace in a theoretical future version of our world with mqgic in it. The wall was created 1700 or 1800 or 1900s and it's been a thousand years.

message 338: by ӍдѕҞa (new)

ӍдѕҞa (whichsidewillyouchoose) | 1876 comments Mod
True. I'm sure the wall itself is beginning to weaken anyway... right? It was bound to fall. we also have to take into account that if the wall stopped magic within, they could have developed the wall to basically be invisible to the outside world to ensure no one would try to attack them or get over the wall...

message 339: by [deleted user] (new)

Maybe. Like the magic binding it is powerful and, I agree, probably also keeping outsidsrs from seeing the city at all/remembering it exists. But maybe the spell is wearing down in general? And maybe it's an outsider that actually forces it down? Or a combination of something on the inside and outside happening at once?

message 340: by ӍдѕҞa (new)

ӍдѕҞa (whichsidewillyouchoose) | 1876 comments Mod
Exactly, the concept would be interesting for sure. Definitely, the spell and the structure of the in general and the chaos on the inside is effecting it and once that chaos effects it enough for people on the outside to notice so in the both sides are just going nuts, for a better word.
If we have the wall fall sometime near the war outbreak, then that war as well as the outside trying to take down the wall since people tend to fear what they don't understand etc. ??

message 341: by [deleted user] (new)

Or for the outside it could be something more like the Opium War in China? More economic and political reasons?

I was thinking maybe it fals later in the war but before it is completely over? So maybe there is evidence of people attacking the wall but it doesn't fall until later. That way we get the more-or-less just the inside of the city in war and then the outside vs warring inside bits both.

message 342: by ӍдѕҞa (new)

ӍдѕҞa (whichsidewillyouchoose) | 1876 comments Mod
The reason could definitely be debated. But if we plan to have it in the state we discussed then...

Okay, that makes sense. Mini earthquake from building falling. But yeah, makes sense

message 343: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah that all works for me

message 344: by ӍдѕҞa (new)

ӍдѕҞa (whichsidewillyouchoose) | 1876 comments Mod
Awesome xD

message 345: by [deleted user] (new)

Works for me too. So we are making the concept of magic return when the wall falls?

i'm always asleep when these sort of discussions take place...

i just wanted to post something to let you all know i've read everything and think it looks really good.

message 347: by [deleted user] (new)

haha time differences and all that

coolsies!

That is the plan, to extent of mages though I think
