Kevin Hill (kevinrhill) | 102 comments I'm getting close to releasing a supernatural thriller. I'm looking into doing a book giveaway here on goodreads, and am hoping for a bit of how-to wisdom.

Thanks in advance. Kevin

Grace (themadmangoavenger) | 4 comments As a reader I can say that I look for ones with good descriptions of the book. If it doesn't have that, I don't even bother. Shiny covers are secondary, but are easily overlooked when the bait is terrible.

I'm listening in for the how-to from the other side, though. I'll be aiming to publish a non-fiction next year and doing the same.

Good luck to you, Sir!

Ashley Capes | 90 comments Hi Kevin,

I came across this post a while back and found it useful:

Especially interesting were her thoughts & results on length or promo, something I've found to be approximately true of the last 6 or 7 giveaways I've done.

Hope it helps a bit - there are more recent posts on the subject out there, but this might be a good starting point
