Nick German what is the best / scariest book you've read where evil wins against the hero?

I started reading Iain Rob Wright back in 2011 when he published The Final Winter. I ADORED that book, and have read every single one since. I actually got him to send me an autographed copy all the way from overseas :D He's an AWESOME guy (and author).

Nick German fun....

Matthew (mattical) Pet Sematary is a great "evil wins" book in my humble opinion. I mean the Creed family was completely destroyed pretty much.

Beth Carpenter (emma2009) | 343 comments The Stand was a good 'evil wins' book. Although the ppl defeat Randall Flagg in the end there is always the idea that he will return in the future.
So I don't know if you would actually call this book an 'EVIL WINS' book or not.

The Stand is an awesome book!

Nick German I wouldn't consider the stand to be an evil wins book, however Rosemary's Baby is definitely an evil wins

message 15: by Kathy (new)

Kathy (littlemissred3) | 804 comments Oh yea, I forgot about Rosemary's Baby.

Nick German I'll have to add Apparition, by Michaelbrent Collings

message 17: by Anthony (new)

Anthony Hains A Good and Happy Child - subtle but jolting nonetheless

James McManis | 14 comments If the film is any indication, No Country for Old Men looks like a great candidate. It's on my list to read!

June (-_-_-june-_-_-_) | 18 comments I don't know that it's the scariest story I've ever read, but it is pretty creepy and the ending throws in hell of a dark twist! The Strange Case at Misty Ridge by David Brian
