Recently came across this link to enter to win a 50 book collection in your favorite genre! I didn't have to sign up for anything and there was an option to not receive emails/updates. I did get an email confirmation creating an account with Penguin Random House but I am ok with that.

Some people have also expressed an interest in Brent Week's The Lightbringer series. It has recently been released to mass paperback and they are all on sale at Amazon. If paperback is your thing of course

I got a notice in the mail but I can't find anything about it online. I know they sometimes do it once a year. It doesn't say it is just my store but I will double check and make sure then I can upload a pic of what I got!

http://readingdeals.com/get-ebook-dea...

Has anybody tried this or something like this? Basically it is an app that sends you free books or notifies you of deals. Or so it seems to be

Brittany, I've been on a couple email lists that send me free and/or discounted books that are available. For me, I find them to provide books I probably don't want to read. I've got SO many I DO want to read, that I quit looking at that stuff.

On the flip side - A buddy of mine found those lists awesome and read all sorts of stuff that I'd have never looked at.

I figured they would be mostly awful. Always a catch haha. Never know might find some gems!

Every time I get emails about "Select Kindles for $1.99", they are almost always filled with nothing but junk looking books.

I just put books i want in my 'wish list' and check the prices from time to time to see if they've dropped.

message 13: by Silvana (new)

Silvana (silvaubrey) I only subscribe to Kindle deals notification; so far I bought four books for 1.99 $ each. I used to subscribe to some websites but all they offer me are junks so I stopped.

Allan Batchelder | 18 comments Is it too self-promotional if I point out that my second book is on sale for 99 cents for Kindle this week? Just askin'!

I follow his reviews and he has now opened up review requests again with some stipulations. A snippet from his review of "The Liar's Key" made it into the cover :)

Michael Fletcher (michaelrfletcher) Hi Grimdarkians,

The good folks over at Grimdark Magazine are giving away my novel Beyond Redemption. I hear it's a tad on the darkish side. There are also a few copies of my first novel 88 (cyberpunk, the grimdark of SF) up for grabs.

Beyond Redemption Give-Away

Cheers!

Michael R. Fletcher

I am unfamiliar with book bub. Is it a decent source for books all the time?

message 36: by Levi (new)

Levi (levi66) | 44 comments Brittany wrote: "I am unfamiliar with book bub. Is it a decent source for books all the time?"

Sorry for the delayed response... Bookbub is an ebooks deals site with a daily email newsletter that you can subscribe to. Authors/publishers submit a request for Bookbub to list a deal for their book. If Bookbub approves (they are very picky) the author/publisher pays a fee to have them list the deal. It will then go out to all of the Bookbub daily email subscribers whose preferences match the book. Indie authors love it because it always boosts their sales.

Wading through daily emails from Bookbub can be a chore, but the markdowns can be significant, and there are some gems to be found.

Another similar site is The Fussy Librarian.

Batman coloring book? I've been thinking about joining that craze. It supposed to be very therapeutic.
