A British journalist has written an article asking for help tracing the book that prompted his political awakening.
It is an illustrated book he read at boarding school in the seventies, which tells the story of a rich boy in Rome who meets a poor boy who has to collect cigarette butts to survive. They run away to the country where they live off the land and exchange the stories of their lives. When the rich boy returns home, he empties his father’s cigarettes out of the window.
I thought it anyone could help him it would be this community. He doesn't think it is 'Paolo and Panetto'.
