Hi. My name's Randy and I've been reading horror stories, short and long, since I was a teen, beginning with Poe, Robert Bloch and Lovecraft. The first hardcover book I bought at full price was that old chestnut, GREAT TALES OF TERROR AND THE SUPERNATURAL.Nice to see discussions about horror here at GoodReads.
Randy M.
Thank you, latash! Very excited to be part of the horror aficionados group. Looking forward to some great horror discussion.
Hi everyone - just a quick hello and introduction. I'm an avid reader of horror and dark fiction, and always looking for recommendations within the genre. I also enjoy writing, and have had a few books published myself. I would like to meet more likeminded horror fans! Love creature features! :-D

Don't miss your chance to nominate a creature feature for our group read in June!
New member here. I'm a big fan of the horror genre but have been struggling finding books that reaallly scare me. Got into the genre through Steven King but lately his books haven't really been doing it for me. My favourite horror books that I've read so far are probably The Family Plot by Cherie Priest, The Amityville Horror by Jay Anson and Hex by Thomas Olde Heuvelt. The main reason I joined this group is to get more suggestions on lesser known horror books.
Welcome to HA, Alessandra! HEX was one of my favorite "new finds" last year. I can honestly say that most of my favorite books came from reviews/suggestions I found here, about authors I never knew about before!
Hey! Glad to be here. I'm a fan of all things horror, supernatural, paranormal. I read and write it and love watching horror films too (as long as I have a cushion!)
Hi all, I came here for good recommendations of creature horror. Thanks in advance, ! Feel free to suggest, If you don’t see it on my read list and you love it definitely let me know !
Hi everyone,My name's Dave. I'm from the Boston area, and I'm both a reader + writer--reading and writing mostly crime noir, crtime + mysteries, and horror. My favorite horror novel over the last year is The Fisherman by John Langan--a beautifully written Lovecraftian novel. I'm also determined to get through my complete collection of H. P. Lovecraft this year (30% completed). The horror novels I've written include The Caretaker of Lorne Field, Monster, and the upcoming Husk, and some of my crime noir staddles the line with horror.
I am not sure if I posted my introduction. My name is Tammy. I am a soon to be 48 year old female living in Los Angeles. I enjoy reading all kinds of Spooky books. I am a big paranormal buff. I am also very much into the Gothic Lifestyle.
Outside of reading, I enjoy music and writing.
Greetings and salutations friendos Dave and Tammy.
I went to college in Boston and am a huge H.P. Lovecraft fan, having read a majority of his work.

Hey everyone, figured it was time to join some groups here on goodreads and this one sounds like it covers my tastes pretty well. I've been a life long reader of dark speculative fiction; horror, scifi, fantasy, weird, noir etc ... the darker the better. I'm also a new author of dark fiction - Peter Guy Blacklock, look me up.
Hi All!If anyone has any upcoming books you're excited about, please add them to my lists:
Horror to look forward to in 2018
Horror to look forward to in 2019
I'm a librarian who is trying to improve the horror ordering at my library; horror books just don't get reviewed in the publications we rely on as often as I'd like, plus a lot of the really exciting books coming out are indie authors who get no publicity. (Plus I enjoy horror and want to hear about new stuff coming out for my own selfish purposes.) Thank you!
Hello!! For me the best media of horror stories is through the books. While the movies are hardly able to go beyond the obvious, sometimes pending until the comic; it is in literature that we gradually find ourselves immersed in the dark and mysterious atmosphere of the entanglements of this genre. I am a fan mainly of the tales of terror of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, considering Poe and Lovecraft the two pillars of this literary hallucination.
