Lovecraft is my favorite as well, and I am also reading Alice by Christina Henry. I have a copy of House of Leaves but I haven't read it yet, but it looks great. I've found SO many great horror books in this group so you're in a good place :)
Welcome to HA Cristina. I haven't read House of Leaves yet but have it hanging around here . . . somewhere.
I'm into many genres, horror being one of them. I saw this group and thought I'd give it a whirl. Happy to be here by the way! Any recomendations on a short horror story, roughly 100-150 pages and from an indie author? I cross between mainstream and indies and I just finished A. C. Clarke's Childhood's End. So now it's time for some spine tingling horror!
Thank you guys for all the welcomes! I looked up the The Bone Tree from your link, Bark, but it was a dead one. Does anyone else have a recommendation? And just throwing this out there, if anyone has KU I would appreciate you looking me up!
Hello and welcome, Anthony. I'm currently reading Mask of the Macabre which is very short and written by an author that is a member here.
I also recommend James Everington's Falling Over, which is a collection of short stories.
I recently read Laudanum Nights by Stephen Bacon and thought it was excellent.
I've enjoyed the short stories of Gregor Xane also, most especially this one: The Hanover Block
Hello. I'm Shelby from KS. I currently work at Spirit Halloween and am hoping to start mortuary school next autumn. I love making new friends and finding new interests. I'm always open to suggestions on movies and books, especially those that are extreme and disturbing. There's seldom a time when I don't carry a book with me. When I'm not reading, I crochet, go to music shows, play with my furbabies (two cats and one dog), work, and shop for books online. I highly recommend thriftbooks.com because they are significantly cheaper than a lot of sites.
What I've read recently:
The Exorcist
The Lovely Bones
The Amityville Horror
The Jigsaw Man
Currently reading:
Rosemary's Baby

Hi Shelby,Welcome to HA, I've spent time in hospitals and I was once trapped in a lift, during an electrical outage with a dead body, in absolute darkness at 3 am.....
So I'm curious to see how your career choice pans out.
This is a great group, and I'm sure that you will have a lot of fun here.
My name is Kendall and I love the Cthulu Mythos as well as the works of both Clark Ashton Smith and Robert E. Howard. If I had to pick my favorite genres of Horror they'd be; Lovecraftian, Body, and Dark Fantasy. Also, I adore Gothic Romanticism.
Hello to everyone!Big fan of all different types of horror with a soft spot for B movies. Been getting stuck into anthologies of classic authors - James, Lovecraft and King.
Am about to release my own collection of short stories on kindle and am hoping this will help feed my interest, plus check out the work of many writers here!
Jamie

Finally a group that focuses entirely on any kind of horror! I love horror books and movies. Also I like true paranormal books too. I think I have finally found a group that I can call home. I look forward to interacting with all of you horror lovers on here!
Hello all,My name is Devyn and I'm from Virginia, currently living in Germany. I've been obsessed with all things horror, gore, gothic, and thriller since I read Dean Koontz's Winter Moon as a youngin'. I most recently finished Jack Ketchum's Off Season (love him) and hope to get some serious recommendations from this group.
