Hi everyone, I'm Justin and am a recently turned 30 year old from the southeastern US. I've been a lifelong horror fan ever since seeing Stephen King's IT on TV when I was four. Years later, I still think of it as my favorite adaption of his and the book my favorite Stephen King novel. But I'm also a zombie lover as well.
I'm even a hopeful horror writer with several novellas/novels in the works. Like one I have planned I'm writing as a homage to slasher movies from the 80s, which I grew up watching. My favorite type of horror tend to be psychological/atmospheric and supernatural.
That said, looking forward to take part here!
Hi I'm Vanda and I've turned off Netflix and have decided to binge read! Thanks New York Public Library for the suggestion LOL.

Hi Jody, welcome onboard to an awesome group. I notice that you are already on the August Group reads which is great.
Hello everyone! I am happy to be a member of this group and have a great appreciation for other horror fans ;) My interest ranges anywhere from a twisted, creepy horror novel or a smart psychological suspense. If you want to add a great read, I just finished "In a dark, dark wood" by Ruth Ware. Caught In Cryptic
Hi everybody. My name is Reagan and I live in Alberta, Canada. I love to read horror (among other things) and I look forward to finding new books through the group.
Hello everyone! I always enjoy reading a good horror book (even though horror movies creep me out - books are definitely more bearable for me), so I decided to join this group in order to find some new great horror reading experiences.
Hello. My name is Leo and I have join in this group to find some scary books that will keep me awake at night. So HI.
I'm a huge fan of everything Stephen King did in his early career. I'm also a fan of Mira Grant and her Newsflesh zombies. Of course I love The Walking Dead. While I have no problem with blood and guts, I prefer a horror that has more to it and one that can creep me out. Not always easy in this day and age. I especially like horror books that keep the horror edge going but keep me guessing as to what the actual danger is. One of the few books that successfully scared me for most of it was Phantoms, by Dean Koontz. That book creeped me out big time. Stephen King's 'Salem's Lot had me going the first time I read it until I realized the menace was vampires, then while I still loved the book and have reread it a few times, it no longer scared me. I'm currently reading Late Bites by John Matsui and it has a nice weird creep factor going for it so far. Any other suggestions?
I'd be open to some recommendations.
Hello! My name is Anita. I've been a long time fan of books in the horror and suspense genre. I've joined this group looking for suggestions of books and authors that I may have missed. Anything that will cause me to close the closet door and bring out the nightlight is what I'm looking to read!
Hi everyone! I love reading horror/paranormal and mystery books and love the idea of having a chance to discuss them with other people as unfortunately none of my friends read these type of books.
Hæ! I'm from Iceland. Been a reading horror, weird and folktales since 1985. Currently waiting for big lottery winnings to pay for post-production of my latest film. It's gonna be awhile so I'm open to suggestions for good reads.
Blessings

Hello and welcome, G.K., Anita, Kristjan and Patricia! Welcome to HA!G.K.-There are several threads and discussions here regarding all types of horror, and atmospheric over bloody. I'm sure you'll find something in on one of those threads that will float your boat. :)
Hi G.K. Salems Lot was the first Stephen King book I read and it's got some of the scariest scenes I've read in my life.
The one where the younger brother is scratching on his older brother's bedroom window is unforgettable.
Welcome to H.A
Hi Anita, Kristjan and Patricia. I'm sure that you will find what you are looking for in this group.Cheers Graeme
