Hello! My name is Cheyenne and I've recently gotten into the horror genre of books and I plan on being an author one day, so I was hoping that by joining this group, I can get book recommendations and get help with book ideas by meeting you all!
@Cheyenne: Welcome and so glad to hear you have gotten into horror! Good luck with being an author one day too, that's so exciting :-)

Hi Sophie! I love all things Zombie and at an given moment I will have 1-2 Zombie fiction in my currently reading list. (I currently have 2 going.) Welcome to HA. I hope your To Be Read (TBR) list is ready for a huge influx, because you will get so many great recommendations here!
Hello! I’m Elsa! I live in California! I looooove horror books! I will say I’m into ones that won’t psychologically scar me for life haha but anyway- I like possession/paranormal and serial killer books. I am open to try new things though. Thank you for having me :)
Welcome Elsa and happy Reading!!EDIT - You can never go wrong with Stephen King.
Bag of Bones or Duma Key for example might be up your alley.
But I also had a lot of fun with recent Books from other Authors like The Horror at Pleasant Brook or Let Him In. Maybe give them a try if you like?
Thank you for the warm welcomes! And Pink Panth… yes! I love Stephen King!!! I’ve been reading Darcy Coates but I do love Stephen King too. I like Lars Kepler too with detective and serial killers.

Iirc, I have a Kepler book in my TBR. Need to get my hands on it someday.
@Katrina thank you!!!@LTJ yeah I like her! I just finished her newest book “where he can’t find you” it was okayyyy. Idk what I was expecting but it just kind of missed the mark for me.
@pinkpanthress omg he’s so good! I love the Joona Linna series. Some creepy killers and excellent writing!
@Jeff M I like true crime a lot but I like reading about fictional ones. True crime I like listening to podcasts or watching documentaries.
Hello everyone! I'm Hayley. I'm from the US, but I live in Germany. I love all things horror and Halloween. Some of my favorite authors include Lovecraft, Clive Barker, Poe, and Donald Ray Pollock. As a child, I remember seeing Clive Barker's Tortured Souls action figures in toy stores and found myself more drawn to them than the toys meant for kids my age :D I have been a fan of horror ever since. I also really enjoy southern gothic and grit lit, especially if it includes horror elements. I've found Goodreads to be very helpful in finding new interesting books to read and I always appreciate recommendations so I'm happy to be here!
@Elsa: Nice! I haven't read that one yet but yeah, I read one 4-Star by her and another was also meh for me BUT I loved her style of writing so she'll always be someone I'll try to read more of in the future.
Welcome Dylan, Hayley, and Sarah! I hope this wonderful group gives you future 5-Star reads, incredible new authors to discover, and all the virtual coffee and cookies you can handle.Since the weekend is over, please don't forget to grab a virtual iced hazelnut latte and some blueberry scones...
@Elsa: I have yet to read that! The one I didn't like now that I looked it up was "From Below". Just not for me, unfortunately.
Hi everyone! I’m so happy to have found this group, this will be a lot of fun 😈My name is Laura and I’m from Canada. I love love love all things dark, scary, horrific, gruesome, disturbing, terrifying, eerie, or just plain wrong.
Looking forward to some awesome discussions about what we all love my fellow horror aficionados!
