The group reads are fun to jump into. The group does a few a month, and the discussions are always pretty active.
And you'd think small towns would be a great cornerstone for horror ;)

I'm a big fan of the horror genre, while also dabbling into sci-fi, fantasy, historical fiction, and the occasional romance.

I love thrillers/dark fantasy, etc., too!
It's Murder on the Orient Express, was trying to read it and Death on the Nile before I went to see it in theaters last week, but, I got caught up in work. Still planning to finish it though, to see if there are any differences,

If you haven't introduced him to the Goosebumps series, that might be something your son would find interesting. I have very fond memories of that book series as it was the ONLY thing I liked to read when I was a kid before actually discovering my love for reading in 7th grade.
As far as graphic novels go, try Shark Summer and the Coraline graphic novel.

@Melanie: Welcome and for sure, we're definitely an engaging group around this genre of horror we love so much! For me, I love horror, suspense, and thriller. I'm hoping maybe around the summer or fall I'll get back into mystery and fantasy but have WAY too many horror novels to get through in my TBR beforehand.That's such a beautiful thing you share your love of reading with your son, you are an awesome mom for doing that! LoL have either of you read the Death of Superman graphic novel? That's my all-time favorite one :-)

@Melanie: LoL yes, I got mine down to 46 which isn't bad since I'm going for 50 books in 2022 (5 down!). I try to keep it to only books I've actually purchased and are waiting to be read so I have it somewhat organized.I agree, it's amazing to me to see how big the graphic novel space has gotten compared to when I was growing up. Either way, I'm glad it's as big as it is to give kids even more reasons to get into them!

Hey, Luke from south east England. From a young age I was pretty much allowed to watch and read whatever I wanted to. A lot of early Stephen King novels, Goosebumps and lots of books about the unexplained pretty much cemented my future interests!Big comic & RPG fan too.

I really like stories with killers as well as fantasy-type monsters (Vampires, Demons, etc...). My favorite though has to be a classic murder mystery. The horrors of human capabilities and science fiction tech horror makes me so interested!
