Hello everyone! I'm Frances. I've been a fan of Horror films since they were in Betamax, and I would watch them with my uncle when he would babysit for me (The Exorcist, Amityville Horror). And my dates would hide behind me and ask me to tell them when the scary scenes were over during scary movies (Sixth Sense). I started out with a Stephen King book collection. I've since discovered Josh Malerman, Paul Tremblay, Thomas Olde Heuvelt to name just a few authors. I'm so glad to have found this group because for a long time an old female fogey like me who reads and watches horror has been frowned upon in my culture.

Hey there! My name is Amy. I am a horror/thriller/gothic goddess loving every minute of it. Many of my favorite authors reside across the Atlantic. Looking forward to being a part of this amazing group!!!
Hello everyone! I have always loved reading and especially horror. I live in Maine so most SK books feel like they could be in my backyard. I read constantly and I love that there are places where I can talk about my books. I also am an audiobook junkie. I listen in the car and when I am at work. It is fun finding great new authors and I look forward to discussing with everybody
Thank you for the warm welcome! I'm looking forward to joining you in discussing White is for Witching (?).
Hi, everyone! I'm Surbhi, (23) from India and I'm a huge horror fanatic. My love for horror began right from my childhood. At the age of 10, I was exposed to a lot of stories from the Hindu Mythology, where there's always been a prevalence of demons and ghosts. From exploring the characters therein to jumping to Stephen King, Koji Suzuki and others, it's been quite a journey. I would love to hear recommendations from everyone and explore more of this awesome genre. :)
Hello, my name is Matt Carter, horror fan for about as long as I can remember and always trying to expand my palate and understanding of this genre I love so. The way my shelves are straining, I possibly have too many movies and should maybe quit on my quest to get a complete set of Stephen King first editions, but until the shelves start to break I don't plan on changing anything. Admittedly my knowledge of horror books has been fairly limited to King and a small handful of other authors, but after receiving a giant stack of horror novels for my birthday recently, I have been expanding my knowledge outward and having a ton of fun.I recently published my first horror novel and am very excited to talk about it, but will save the self-promotion for the appropriate areas. Editing this post because I made the mistake of talking about it and don't want to get banned. Sorry for any confusion!
I look forward to exploring this board!
Welcome to HA, Matt! I hope you found the thread for author promotions. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Hello everybody,I've always had a fondness for horror, but it's hard to find people offline who share this interest. Someone I beleived to be my friend even recommended me to read The Alchemist.
I'm certainly glad to have found this group, you people.

Hello Everyone. My name is Tristan. I am an author of thriller and horror books. I love watching horror movies and writing scripts. My mission is to come up a horror movie that will scare my audience over and over again.
Hey! I'm pretty new to the Goodreads community, and Horror is one of my favorite genres. I've been a bit bummed out this year--there haven't been any GREAT horror novels that I've found to add to my collection. I LOVED "The Troop" by Nick Cutter so I was excited to read "Little Heaven", but the magic just wasn't there for me.
I'm very open to suggestions, as I'd like to have a spooky fall.

Welcome, Rachel! We're trying to feature some "newer" horror novels/authors in the group reads this year, so hopefully we can all help you come across some you'll love. Are you looking for more "quiet/atmospheric" horror, or gore?
