Heather Godwin (hpgodwin) | 84 comments I like a lot of your picks! I started this challenge late too, but happily caught up quick.
For book set in the future - I'd vote for The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I just finished it for 'parent's favorite book' and was really surprised to find that as the first book of a series it was very short and hilarious! Every chapter has some witty quote you'll find later on t-shirts and posters.

Kathy Heather, I think I need some short and quick books so maybe I'll go with Hitchhiker's Guide. Sounds fun.

Kathy I've finished these books recently:

#12 a book of short stories - Problem at Pollensa Bay by Agatha Christie - light, fun, 3 stars

#15 a popular author's first book - Elizabeth and Her German Garden by Elizabeth von Arnim - not a "popular author" but one I wanted to read. This is her first book, written in 1898. Gives the perspective of a woman's life in Germany during the late 19th century. 3 stars

#48 a book written by an author with your same initials - Winter Garden by Kristin Hannah - enjoyed parts of this story very much, especially the parts set during the Siege of Leningrad. 4 stars

Kathy Just finished The Lake House by Kate Morton for #21 which I changed to "a book your mother may have loved." I love all of Kate Morton's books.
