                                                      The Open Market

Looking for a particular book? Have extra books you're willing to sell? List them in the thread for others to sell/buy. Be sure to list a selling or purchasing price. First person to offer a book that meets the requirements makes the sell and first person to answer an ad will make the buy. Books purchased may be used the same as any book you would have read normally. Participation may not be bartered.

Common items may also be sold including drops from common creatures, potions, eggs and cooking components.

Example Offer: Sugarplums and Scandal for sale! Great book to use to rescue faeries! 5 gold to buy your chance to see a real fairy!!!!

Example Request: Looking for a in-betweeners book! Offering 3 gold.

Each hero may sell up to 5 books and 5 items on the open market each month. Additional books or items may be sold for a tax of 0.5 gold per item. Taxes will be collected at the end of the caravan and it is up to the individual hero to perform his or her own tax analysis. Tax help software is not available.

The open market runs the last week of each month.
Next Open Market:

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: To assist in the matter of Eisdrake, the market will be open until the threat is resolved.

Looks around and sees that no one is there and the Bat Wings are under lock and key. Stuffs her small gold bag back into her pocket. Slowly, she backs out of the Open Market and shuts the door, hoping no one saw her

Rebecca (rebeccasg) | 3270 comments Hopefully this isn't against the rules...

Was just putting a feeling out there to see if anyone would be willing to trade a 1000 page book for a major healing potion or some other potion.

I have a couple big ones, but I need to focus on getting potions (so higher quantity lower page count). I'm wondering if it would be worth it to work on big ones now.

For the time equivalent of reading 1000 pages you could read 5 200-page books equal to 5 minor heal potions if they fulfil any of the scrounging list items.

Save your big books for quests, future classifieds or building your sword up to level 10.

The other alternative is to keep reading for gold and buy what you need in the store.

Rebecca (rebeccasg) | 3270 comments Yeah that's what I was thinking Reva. But I have a couple big ones that I really want to read and have been putting off because they're "not worth the time", but I want to read them. Just in case anyone really wanted a big one I thought I'd post here. If not... I'll think about reading them and hoarding them for later.

The poor chunksters on my shelf have been seriously neglected.
