This is a new thread that will take the place of the previous separate Monthly Challenge Suggestion Threads.

Please check this thread each month for the remainder of 2015 for suggestions for the month's challenge. Please feel free to also ask questions about the monthly challenge in this thread.

Each month a new post with new suggestions and links to helpful shelves and lists will be posted here. Look for the specific month's heading.

1.'S' is for September: Read a book that starts with 'S' or a book whose author's first or last name starts with 'S'.

2.Member of the Month: Questian- Questian has been a member of the RRRC since January 2013. Here is the link to Questian's shelves- Questian's Shelves . Please read a book from any of Questian's shelves or a book published in 2013 or a book published in January of any year.

3. Featured Author Challenge (FAC) author-Lorelei James. Read one book written by Lorelei James or any author with her first or last name. Link to Lorelei James's backlist- Books by Lorelei James

Fun Facts about Lorelei-
* Lorelei James lives in South Dakota
* She also writes a dark, gritty mystery series under the name Lori Armstrong
* Lorelei has a closet full of cowgirl boots
* CHASIN’ EIGHT was her very first book to hit the NY Times Bestsellers ebook list and the USA Today Bestsellers list

You may also read a book set in South Dakota, or by an author who is from South Dakota. You can also read any book that has boots on the cover, or any book shelved as Mystery or any book found on a Bestseller list.


4.Sept. 20th- National Women's Friendship Day- Read a book that focuses on a friendship or a book where a woman plays an important part in the story.

5.Sept. 21st- Miniature Golf Day- Read a book that features a sport played during the story, or read a book that is on the shorter side or a book that has green on the cover.

6.Sept. 9th- Teddy Bear Day- Read a book with an animal on the cover or in the story (shifters count!), or a book with a sweet, good-natured guy or a book with the word or form of the word 'bear','honey',or 'sweet' in the title.

7.Sept. 11th- Make Your Bed Day- Read a book that you have been neglecting, or a book that has a character that spends time in a bed or a book with a bed or sheets on the cover.

8.Sept. 16th- National Play Doh Day- Read a book with an artistic character, or a book featuring a child or a character who acts childishly.

9.Sept. 5th- Cheese Pizza Day- Read a book with a chef, or a character who works in the food industry, or a book set in Italy or has an Italian character, or a book with a round object on the cover.

10. Reader's Choice: Read any book of your choice.

1. 1. 'O' is for October: Read a book that starts 'O' or whose author's first or last name starts with 'O'.

2. Member of the Month - NayNay: NayNay has been a member of the RRRC since September 2011. Here is the link to NayNay's shelves. Please read a book from any of NayNay's shelves, a book published in 2011 or a book published in September of any year.

4. Fire Prevention Week (2nd week of October): Read a book with a MC in a career that wears a uniform.

5. Techies Day (October 3): Read a book where modern technology (for its time) is featured.

6. Do Something Nice Day (October 5): Read a book with a nice character or a sweet story.

7. No Beard Day (October 18): Read a book where the hero has no facial hair.

8. United Nations Day (October 24): Read a book set in a country other than your own.

9. National Frankenstein Day (October 30): Read a Paranormal Romance or any book with a monster in it.

10. Reader's Choice: Read any book of your choosing!

4. November 1st: Daylight Savings time ends- Pick a book that involves Time Travel, efficiency or a time saver like a ‘shorter book’—less than 100 pages.

5. Nov 3: Election Day- Read a book that includes politicians, any political theme or an ‘important cause’.

6. Nov 11: Veteran’s Day- Read a book which includes any branch of Service or Veteran.

7. November 24: has been declared by the United Nations as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women- Read a book that promotes this cause, has a hero that protects, or has a predominately Orange book cover (the color chosen to draw attention to this day).

8. November 30: Cyber Monday- Read any book that emphasizes computers/technology, ‘space’ or shopping!

9. November is Diabetes Month: Read a book involving a Diabetic character, a 'sweet' story, a book title that includes the word ‘sweet’ or Vampires.

10. Reader's Choice: Read any book of your choice.

Challenge Duration: November 1 to November 30, 2015

You can choose 3, 5, 8 or all 10 categories depending on your reading speed, book availability and/or time commitment.

When posting your challenge progress, please make sure to put the date/s when you finished your book/s. Please re-post your progress as it helps when updating, or let us know in a new post that you have completed your challenge.
