Ben Munnicha | 2 comments I believe this book was a children's book but I'm not sure. I am positive this book had some type of medal on the cover.

Liralen | 766 comments Do you remember anything about the plot or characters? Do you think it was a picture book? Middle grade? How long ago did you see/read it?

Ben Munnicha | 2 comments It was not a picture book. The main character was a middle or high school girl. The only thing i can remember about the plot was that she and her aunt or uncle painted a giant flower on the ceiling of a room.

The Outcasts of 19 Schuyler Place? The cover matches your description. It involves a girl and her grand uncles. It won some award so there might be a medal on the cover.

The Outcasts of 19 Schuyler Place by E.L. Konigsburg has the pink flower. There is another copy of the book with no cover posted, which I guess could have the medal on it.

Audra | 6 comments I'm very very sure that Anna is right and that is the book you are looking for because I've read it and it has the flower being painted on the main characters bedroom ceiling and she lives with her Uncles.

Audra | 6 comments Ooops I just realized Lobstergirl posted that book first and then Anna posted something about it. But either way I'm 99.9% sure that is the one.

Based on the available evidence, I believe this is Ben's book. Moving to Solved.
