Uvi Poznansky | 948 comments I am so thrilled to read this in-depth dual review, written by Dii, a Top 500 Amazon Reviewer, together with Mary-Grace Bylo, a girl of 11 years old, for my children's book Jess and Wiggle:

★★★★★ Dream-like fantasy for young children
By Dii TOP 500 REVIEWER on August 10, 2015
Mary-Grace Bylo, 11-year-old reviewer:

Jess and wiggle is a delightful story about a young girl that never laughs or smiles until she meets a small creature named wiggle. Wiggle tries to make Jess laugh and smile, then Jess caught wiggle and refused to release him. Then wiggle takes Jess high into the air and floating around them were socks, combs, and knots. Then while Jess was telling wiggle to stop with all of crazy doings she let a laugh a small laugh and a smile.

This book is great for kids with a great imagination. I would recommend this book for children ages 8 to 9 reading it by themselves and ages 5 to 7 having it read to them. The pictures are beautiful and colorful. I liked the way you made the story rhyme.

My Review
Uvia Poznansky’s Jess and Wiggle is pure whimsy and fantasy, perfect to engage the minds and imaginations of young children with the soft and colorful pictures filled with a melange of objects, as well as young Jess and the magical Wiggle. A beautiful way to send a small child off to dreamland with gentle rhyming, soft illustrations and delicate handwriting making this entire tale a work of art to treasure for generations from a gifted artist in all she does.

We received this edition from Uvi Poznansky in exchange for our honest reviews.

Uvi Poznansky | 948 comments I am thrilled to find a truly perceptive review for my children's book, Now I Am Paper, written by top Amazon reviewer and author Sheila Deeth. In addition to her novel, Divide by Zero, she has written The Five Minute Bible Story Series, and other books. With a Masters in mathematics from Cambridge University, England, she is a a top reviewer for Amazon, Goodreads, Gather and other reading sites. This is what she says:

★★★★★ Poetry in pictures
By Sheila Deeth VINE VOICE on August 11, 2015

Now I am Paper, by Uvi Poznansky, begs to be read with a small child who enjoys playing hide and seek. Whose little foot would the tree like to feel? Who would it love to hold and swing? And who might climb?

Pictures in beautifully suffused light evoke a happy childhood time, for child and tree. But the life of a tree includes more than leaves and branches. The ax intervenes and the reader soon sees, together with child and tree, how wood becomes paper.

It’s a nicely intriguing lesson in real-world mechanics, but that’s not the end. Leaves of paper can speak just as surely as those on a tree, and they do. In the final product, the author’s poetic and artistic touches combine to make this a beautiful poem to share, and a lovely picture book for all to enjoy.

Uvi Poznansky | 948 comments I remember: a gentler sound... The forest rustling in the rain...
Leaves were swirling all around... I heard soft footsteps up the lane... So starts a poem I wrote, where the narrator is an old tree longing for the little girl who used to climb up his trunk and nestle between his branches—

★★★★★ ‘Right there you drew across my heart you carved an arrow in my bark’
By Grady Harp HALL OF FAME TOP 100 REVIEWER VINE VOICE on August 21, 2015

Uvi Poznansky wears a coat of many colors. Originally from Israel where she studied Architecture and Town Planning then moving to the US where she studied Computer Science and became an expert in Software Engineering, Poznansky managed to combine the design elements of two studies into unique formats. And she has accomplished the same with the other side of her brain - making visual her ideas (she is an accomplished painter, drawer, and sculptor who has enjoyed exhibitions both in Israel and in California, her present base) and making words in poetry and in short stories and children's books.

For this very tender little story Uvi uses her talent as a watercolorist and graphic designer (letterer) to make this book a work of art as well as a love story between a child and a tree. The tree narrates the rhyming tale that begins with the quiet of the forest and then along comes a child how climbs the tree, finds the trees hollow, leaves a make of love on the trees bark and departs. Years pass and the tree grows old and eventually chopped down and sent to a mill where it is made into paper – the very paper on which this tale of tenderness is written.

Leave it to Uvi to create a story to which children and adults can relate and one that teaches some important lessons to children. Art and rhyme blended with love. Grady Harp, August 15

★★★★★ Fun with style for child and care-giver to enjoy
By Sheila Deeth VINE VOICE on August 11, 2015

Written in a cool dancing font, sure to intrigue children and parents alike, Uvi Poznansky’s Jess and Wiggle feels like a perfect cross between my mother’s old books and my children’s new. The rhyming text is clean and smooth, easy to read aloud, and fun. The facial expressions of miserable Jess are so sweet and convincing. And the blend of old-fashioned painting and drawing with bright cut-out stylization makes for a book whose pages are truly a delight to turn.

For added enjoyment, in the kindle edition you can click on words to see them in fonts easy enough for a beginning reader to enjoy. Plus the poem’s repeated in simple text at the end. Jess and Wiggle converse, they dance, they play, and it’s all nicely vague for any care-giver to share with a child. A beautiful book for adults and children who appreciate the fun of art and words.

JESS AND WIGGLE is one of her newest and freshest books yet. More concerned with the visual than the story Uvi provides all the illustrations for this delightful little rhyming tale – richly colored hand made collages as well as paintings adorn these beautiful and fanciful pages.

The story concerns young Jess who rarely smiles and never laughs until she encounters Wiggle, a ribbon like creature with whom she interacts In myriad ways in a test of who will laugh. Of course the winner is the recalcitrant Jess, but it is the artistic fun things she does with Wiggle that make the reader laugh way before Jess gives in!

This is another treasure form Uvi Poznansky – a perfect entertainment and lesson for children and adults alike. Grady Harp, August 15

Uvi Poznansky | 948 comments What a beautiful review by Valerie for my children' book, Now I am paper:

★★★★★ A Watercolor of Words, September 14, 2015
By Valerie (Verified Purchase)

And what an exquisite painting this story is. Not only are her words vividly drawn, but the book is richly enhanced by her own illustrations, breathtaking and elegant, yet simply expressive.

I rank her up there with Tomie dePaola, Eric Carle, and Shel Silverstein. High praise from one who grew up on, and passed forward Silverstein’s classic to all my progeny. Some could say this is a retelling of The Giving Tree, but I say this is so much more. Ms. Pozanski's eloquent prose and exquisite illustrations bring a new and uplifting twist. It becomes very much a circle-of-life tale. The message, the prose and glorious illustrations create a true celebration of life.

This book is the single best children's book I've read in years. As a mother of eight and grandmother of ten, I speak with authority. I applaud Ms. Pozanski's immeasurable talents and am ordering copies for my grandchildren for Christmas. What better gift than a celebration of life? Many thanks, Ms. Pozanski for giving us this tale of life, of hope and renewal.
MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to children of ALL ages.

Uvi Poznansky | 948 comments Here is a lovely review that put a big smile on my lips, for my children's book Jess and Wiggle:

★★★★★ The Charming Gift of Rhyme, April 4, 2016
By Kindle Customer49, Verified Purchase
This review is from: Jess and Wiggle (Kindle Edition)
With the lightest of touches, talented artist/author Uvi Poznansky inks and pens her way through this delightful book, reminiscent of old school illustrators and writers from the past. Using an antique curly-Q looking font, we are introduced to Jess, “a little girl with the cutest red curl,” who doesn’t like to smile. Inspired by the book’s absolute charm, I can’t help but finish my review like this (not nearly as good as the author’s, btw!)

No matter how many games one plays,
Jess meets each person with a solemn gaze.
Until up crops Wiggle in her sock,
Now HE has the amazing gift of shock.
And shock he does with huge savoir faire,
Making this charming children’s book
Something we all should share!

Uvi Poznansky | 948 comments Here is a beautiful review by Robin Lee, a Top 500 reviewer, for my children's book, Now I Am Paper:

★★★★★ Such A Lovely Children's Story,,,,,
ByRobin LeeTOP 500 REVIEWER
This is a kind of bittersweet, sorrow short, bedtime story, by author Uvi Poznansky............It's metaphor fro a longing for a child .....Also, a hidden meaning about society and our destroying of trees.......The entire story rhymes in flowery prose, even though the words are easy to read....I appreciate that the author took the time to put the words right along with the illustrations.....The illustrations are lovely, big, bright and colorful......Rhyming tend to hold children's attention span more and make them giggle.....It looked nice on my kindle........

The story is about a Tree and it's longing for the child who used to touch and climb it's branches.....As, seasons and years go by, the Tree is alone and getting very old......One day someone will come and chop it down.......Even though I felt that was a sad part in the story......Something magical happens afterwards .....You need to read to find out..........

At the end of the book, the author puts the whole entire poem there, so you can read it again........

For children ages 4-6 ........
