Sydney Humphrey (bjjgirl) | 2158 comments Mod
Haha no, actually most groups post the new sign up immediately after the old one closes. Plus, I'd rather get the sign ups open early than late. :)

message 4: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale | 371 comments Good point. OK, count me in.

I'm posting two books and my theme is cookbooks.

The Frugal Gourmet by Jeff Smith
Jerusalem: A Cookbook
by Yotam Ottolenghi, Sami Tamimi

Just another Fangirl (fangirl4ever101) sign me up

Updated! :) I will also be participating, but I am waiting to choose my books :)

message 11: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale | 371 comments Thanks.

message 12: by Julia (new)

Julia Hörmayer | 323 comments I'll join! Just don't know the books yet since the 22 books I ordered online arrived yesterday and I still have some old unread ones AND a couple from the library. I don't know which I'll get to read in September ..
I have to read the ones from the library anyway in September, but maybe I'll get to them in August already (though I doubt it).

Haha wow! Okay, sounds good. I'll add your name to the roster and you can just post your books whenever you're ready. :)

message 14: by Julia (new)

Julia Hörmayer | 323 comments Do you have any idea what you may be reading in September? Cause I'll order some books (It and Gone with the Wind) for the Book Pool on Thursday (library is closed tomorrow, cry).

message 15: by Sydney, Head Mod | Avid Reader | Dedicated Fangirl (new)

Sydney Humphrey (bjjgirl) | 2158 comments Mod
I'm actually working on that right now. I should post my book's sometime in the next half hour. :)

message 18: by Julia (new)

Julia Hörmayer | 323 comments Ok, so my library has them all, Hourglass only in German, though.
Is it possible that Stargirl is a childrens book?

message 19: by Sydney, Head Mod | Avid Reader | Dedicated Fangirl (new)

Sydney Humphrey (bjjgirl) | 2158 comments Mod
Yes, possibly. I thought I might appreciate one light, easy read next month. :)

message 20: by Julia (new)

Julia Hörmayer | 323 comments Wouldn't hurt me, either :-)
I could probably post my books too already but there are so many and since I'll now order five new books from the library, I won't get to all of my booky, anyway. Plus, I still have three books from the library to read and two that have yet to arrive. That'll be a busy reading month ..

message 21: by Julia (new)

Julia Hörmayer | 323 comments Btw, you didn't write your name on the list, haha.

message 22: by Sydney, Head Mod | Avid Reader | Dedicated Fangirl (new)

Sydney Humphrey (bjjgirl) | 2158 comments Mod
Wow! I'm so busy with school right now that I hardly have time to read. I'm doing my best to make time though!

And thanks for reminding me! :P

message 23: by Julia (last edited Aug 26, 2015 11:33AM) (new)

Julia Hörmayer | 323 comments School starts on the 7th of September for me, I think.
You're welcome :-D

message 24: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale | 371 comments Sydney, of the books you listed the one I'm most likely going to be able to find is Unbroken.

message 25: by Sydney, Head Mod | Avid Reader | Dedicated Fangirl (new)

Sydney Humphrey (bjjgirl) | 2158 comments Mod
Ok cool! I've been wanting to read that one since the movie came out last Christmas. :) If you would like, feel free to add a third book to the pool.

message 26: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale | 371 comments I think two cookbooks is all any of us are gonna want to read next month.

message 27: by Sydney, Head Mod | Avid Reader | Dedicated Fangirl (new)

Sydney Humphrey (bjjgirl) | 2158 comments Mod
Haha very true! I meant if you would like to add a regular book :P

message 28: by Jessica (new)

Jessica I'm in!

I'm going to try:

The Fold by Peter Clines

And the Mountains Echoed by Khaled Housseini

Absolution by Amanda Dick

Sydney Humphrey (bjjgirl) | 2158 comments Mod
Yay! The more the merrier!! :D I'll add your info to the list in just a bit. :)

message 30: by Julia (new)

Julia Hörmayer | 323 comments My books will probably just be
The Light Between Oceans
Legend and
Amy and Roger's Epic Detour
because I borrowed them from the library and have to read them in September anyway.

Sydney Humphrey (bjjgirl) | 2158 comments Mod
Updated!

Honestly y'all, I love this challenge. I always end up finding so many new books to read. Plus it gives me extra motivation to actually get reading! :D

message 32: by Julia (new)

Julia Hörmayer | 323 comments Agree! But it also gives me quite some pressure ._.

Amber Martingale | 371 comments Sydney wrote: "Haha very true! I meant if you would like to add a regular book :P"

Nah, I'll stick to the theme. LOL.

Julia: That's one reason I decided that my September theme would be cookbooks. They are fairly easy to read, even the one by Yotam Ottolenghi, compared to almost all the other books; with the POSSIBLE exception of CINDER. And unlike the others, even GONE WITH THE WIND, they don't really make you THINK that much...unless it gets you thinking about actually cooking.

message 34: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale | 371 comments Unless someone else has checked it out, I can probably find Unbroken in the library of one of the churches I occasionally attend.

Sydney Humphrey (bjjgirl) | 2158 comments Mod
Great! I've already requested about four books from the pool that will hopefully be here next week :)

message 36: by Amber (new)

Amber Martingale | 371 comments I'll know if it's been checked out if I can get into my church library tomorrow.

Julia Hörmayer | 323 comments My book still counts, right? Because it had already been the first of September in my country, don't know how it was in yours. I was so confused by the late entry ..

Yes Julia, your book still counts! Even here where I live it was about 9a.m. :)

Aaron wrote: "My books will be: Keeping Faith by Jodi PicoultKeeping Faith

SlaughterSlaughter (Frank Quinn, #10) by John Lutz

Devices And Desires (Adam Dalgliesh, #8) by P.D. James[book:Devices And Desires..."

Aaron, I just looked over your books. Keeping Faith and Making Love can be part of the pool, but the other two books are too far into their respective series. (Goodreads says they are #10 and #8 in their series.) Because they are so far into the series, it is unlikely anyone else would be able to read them this month, so we try to limit books to the first or second of a series. Please choose a replacement and I'll add the other two.

message 44: by Julia (new)

Julia Hörmayer | 323 comments Ok, good. So Aaron was just very late :-D

I already wondered, since it was like 2 p.m. in my country.

He was, but I figured it didn't really matter since he hadn't missed anything yet. :P

message 46: by Julia (new)

Julia Hörmayer | 323 comments I'm on page 50 of Legend right now, really like it so far. Finally a book I actually enjoy. Haven't had many of those lately.

message 47: by Sydney, Head Mod | Avid Reader | Dedicated Fangirl (new)

Sydney Humphrey (bjjgirl) | 2158 comments Mod
Glad to hear it! I've picked up that book a few times, but I've yet to make it past page 2 :|

message 48: by Julia (new)

Julia Hörmayer | 323 comments Haha, why is that?

message 49: by Sydney, Head Mod | Avid Reader | Dedicated Fangirl (new)

Sydney Humphrey (bjjgirl) | 2158 comments Mod
I think in the past I have always tried to read it during the middle of a reading slump, so it hasn't worked out too well :P

message 50: by Julia (new)

Julia Hörmayer | 323 comments Oh, haha :-D
But it's seriously so thrilling! I only wanted to sit down for a chapter while I boot my computer and happened to read more than 100 pages because I just couldn't stop!
