Alison Morquecho (thebookishcamper) | 787 comments me either! I go see it Thursday and it can't come fast enough. I am rereading it right now and I forgot how much I love this book!

kynndra-jo (charlietanghoe) I loved the movie, it was very emotional! I refrained from sobbing (even though there were 2-3 scenes where I thought I was going to have an asthma attack even though I don't have asthma... the point is that I with-held all my emotions and it was painful!) there were a few things missing in the movie that were in the book but it didn't really affect the overall greatness of the movie. It followed it very closely and I think you all will be pleased and emotionally broken when you do happen to see it /hushed sobbing in the dark/.

Daniel (pickyreader1) | 1925 comments I just went to see TFIOS with a bunch of friends!!
It was really good, and the acting was very impressive. I didn't cry (though I came close a couple of times) but I can't say the same about many other people in the theater.

It was a solid 4 out of 5 stars. Here's my little take on the movie.
There was phenomenal committed acting from Shailene Woodley. She was fantastic throughout the film. Props also to the actors playing Hazel's parents, who did very admirable jobs. Ansel Elgort was able to pretty much master Gus, which is saying something, considering Gus is such a hard character to nail. There's a certain attractive, confident charisma that Gus has, and Elgort really highlighted this- he tapped into this especially from the trip to Amsterdam and onwards, which is when I think Elgort found his groove. Speaking of Amsterdam, this was the best part of the book. The romantic dinner, the kiss at the Anne Frank house, and the scenes in the hotel and out on the streets were captivating. The plot mostly stayed true to the book, although there were some omitted parts (like the selling of the Swing Set). The ending was very emotional, although not as much as I expected it to be (probably because I've read the book). The eulogies especially, though, were heart-breaking, and they nearly made me cry. Overall, the movie was a very respectable adaptation of Green's book, and you should all watch it.

Harlee | 1583 comments I had the strangest dream last night. People kept giving me books and saying they wanted them back the next day, but I was already reading two books so I was freaking out wondering how I'd get all those books read! Then my mom and I were walking past this giant, store sized bookshelf and apparently they were all mine, and she kept asking about certain books. Then I wake up, and was thinking about a book that was on that shelf, then I realize I don't actually have that book and it was only in my dream lol!

LOL that is some dream! Apparently you just want to read all the books, all the time ;)

My dream was super sad last night--I dreamed that I had 4 cats, including Tux...and they were all attacked by something. They survived, but they were missing pieces...*shudders* There was more to the dream, but that's the part that I remember! It wasn't gory, just sad :(

Yeah, it gets a little graphic sometimes.
It's a little hard to believe on occasion (there are some plot holes) but the characters are really good and it's an exciting show.
I always look forward to it.

message 421: by Katie.g (new)

Katie.g I'm reading Under the Dome currently! It's a little different from the show (watched about half the series). For example one character that dies at the beginning of the book is taken hostage in the TV show. How are you liking it so far?

message 422: by Katie.g (new)

Katie.g I don't consider it to be much of a spoiler as it happens right at the start but sorry if you think it does classify as one!

Joanne Farley Well I am so excited, there has been a Whale beached here in Queensland they had been trying for two days to get him back out to see. After many failed attempts he finally swam out to sea this morning. Such a relief.

I even had the TV on here at work. It was a little distressing to watch but some amazing when he finally got into deep enough water and swam away.

I'm going to do a little bit of shameless promotion. This is for US residents only (unfortunately, as I have lots of friends all over the world).

If you feel like it, take a few minutes and VOTE VOTE VOTE for the company I own, Integrity First Property Management, for Best Property Management Company in Arizona for 2015!! I would be ever so grateful!! :D http://azbigmedia.com/vote-ranking-ar...

You'll have to sign in, but once you do, go to Real Estate - Residential (on the left hand side), and then click on Homeowners Association Management Companies - then vote for Integrity First Property Management. You can sign up under each email you have so please vote more than once!! And vote often! Only 20 days left to vote this year.

We've been in the top ten in Arizona for the past EIGHT years!! Help us keep the momentum going! :)
