Re 1, the original publication date defaults to the oldest edition. Because there are editions published in 2012 (but without a month and date), this original publication date will show 2012. Without knowing the date of all 2012 editions (I tried, really!), that's the best I can do.

Re 2, fixed... mostly. Do you own a copy of this book? Does the copyright page include that exact date? All I could find was April 1973, not April 1st, 1973. So for now, the original pub date is April 1973.

Re 3, the date is fixed (as for 2), but the publisher of the edition with that ISBN is Orion, as confirmed on Amazon, not HarperCollins.

but i own a paper-back copy of this book with the ISBN number : 9780061729010.
All other details including page number match as listed in goodreads..
should i be creating an alternate cover edition for this ?

On AbeBooks and other sites it was listed as softcover, but I saw a listing on eBay (and also on other sites) that said hardcover. It seems the ISBN was used for both formats.
