I'm a writer of sorts, mostly of supernatural fiction. My vampire novella Lifeblood was first published in 2004 by Silver Lake Publishing; they subsequently went out of business, but it's currently published in both print and e-book formats by World Castle Publishing. More recently, I self-published two short e-stories, which are currently available for 99 cents apiece on Smashwords. Here's the link to my Goodreads author page: www.goodreads.com/author/show/1275451... . (Or, just click my picture icon that accompanies this post!)
Thanks, Amber. (And BTW, I want you to know I plan to check out your writing sometime, whenever I have the time to actually do it justice!)
Okay awesome Werner Thanks! I have a serial I am writing at my goodreads page right now and chapter 2 will be up on Friday since I am doing a chapter a week for my Online YA horror fantasy serial The AbyssFantastical. My Darkness Within one on there is completed and the others are short stories so I hope you enjoy them. I write for fun anyway. ^_^
Cool. ^_^ if you check my serials and stories out werner, be sure to like them and leave me a comment at them. thanks.
Oh okay Holly. Just do like I do, write down a starter sentence, how you want your story to start and then keep writing.
No problem holly. I hope you'll check out my abyssfantastical serial and will enjoy it. Keep up the great work with your writing though! :-)
Thanks, Amber, for the opportunity. The quick answer to your question is yes: both active and published.

Hi everyone,I am a published speculative fiction writer, scifi, horror and a little fantasy (I have two scifi novels out abd two more coming out over the next year or so with Class Act Books publishers.
I won't bore you with all the details. Here is my site (a work in progress). I usually give all my profits to charity.

I really enjoy hanging out on these threads andam always happy to take a look at people's short stories and so on. Also, if anyone wants to do peer reviews of longer works I enjoy those too. Werner's 'Lifeblood' looks pretty interesting.
all the best everyone- will be about from now on.

Amber wrote: "Hey guys! I decided to make a thread for writers to share their writing with us by a link to their goodreads page or website. If you write for fun, what genres and where do you post at? I write for..."Hi Amber,
I'm following your reviews :-)
James, I wish you all the best with your writing! You should definitely sign up for the Goodreads Author Program; you can check it out at this link: www.goodreads.com/author/program .Glad you think Lifeblood looks interesting! I'm not opposed per se to the idea of a review swap, though I've never officially done one. Unfortunately, though, my publisher doesn't give me any review copies to hand out. My personal advertising budget for my writing is about $0.00; and it generally appears that theirs isn't much better. :-( It's actually possible to read my book for free, though, if you borrow it through your local library. Very few libraries have it, but they can borrow it by interlibrary loan. (Just tell the librarian it's in World Catalog; he/she will know what that means! :-) )
Amber wrote: "Thanks James. ^_^ I hope you enjoy them and thanks for being a friend too. :)"my pleasure
Hi Werner, I understand exactly about your publisher having a zero budget for promotion. I am in exactly the same position.
I will definitely sign up for the author program - I feel pretty confused and swamped at the moment to be honest regarding self promotions, need all the friends and help I can get.
Not to worry if you don't like the idea of a peer review (my idea was to swap PDF or kindle versions) By the way - I'm in UK and just found your book on Amazon.uk - believe it or not the price is 101 pounds!!! I'm still in shock :-)
All the best
James
WHOA! 101 pounds? James, I think I'm in shock, too! That's clearly a dealer's price for a used copy. If you have access to Amazon U.S. or the publisher's website at www.worldcastlepublishing.com , the list price for a new print copy is $10.99 U.S., and the Kindle version sells for $3.99. I hadn't stopped to think about you being in the UK; that makes it more problematical to get the book by ILL, since all of the libraries that have it are in the U.S. (Postage rates for international parcel post being what they are, many libraries don't lend books to, or borrow them from, foreign libraries.)I do have an electronic text of Lifeblood in Word, although every chapter is saved as a separate file. If you're game, I could attach these to a regular e-mail, if you send me your e-mail address in a personal message (Goodreads' messaging system won't take attachments), and you could do the same for a PDF file. You could then read the book onscreen, or do what I do in those cases --run a print copy, use a three-hole punch to put it in a loose-leaf notebook, and read it like a regular book. That's not as convenient as reading a regularly bound paperback, but it can be done. One caveat, though; before trying a review swap, it's usually a good idea to read the other writer's reviews enough to get a good feel for what he/she likes, and whether or not your book would probably fit that bill. But once you've done that, if you're still game, send me a PM and we'll explore the idea!
Read for review requests are fun. I started doing them last december and I get some interesting reads from it. :-)
Amber,If you're interested in doing a swap, please let me know. If you've got any short stories or novellas you'd like to swap for the same, I'd be more than willing to "gift" you one of mine and take yours in return.
We can then talk about a novel swap at a later date.

I only write my stories for fun on here russell. If you ever want to read them, let me know and i'l be happy to link you to them. Am almost done with a ya horror fantasy web serial I am writing here a chapter a week until I'm finished since february called the abyssfantastical so if you want to read it, I can link it to you by chapter. Working on chapter 12 right now. It might be the final chapter but I'll figure it out. Have had a blast writing it anyway. I exchange honest reviews for a free copy of author's works and give them a chance and I do that for fun too. :-)
Amber,Oops! I should've first read your bio.
Sorry, but you're a tad too young for what I write (for money, not for fun). And I'm afraid I'd be a very bad reader 'n' reviewer of YA Fiction. Most of what I read was written by old (= dead) white men.
Russell
That's okay. It's more horror and fantasy anyway. And I basically read anything. When I first got requests got a lot of fantasies, paranormal romance, a mystery one and been getting thrillers right now anyway. I got 1 women's fiction one as well. If it's a good read, I check it out. I even read a friend's mystery noir superhero novel and enjoyed it. I'm only 26 anyway. Be 27 in september. :-)

I just sent you a message regarding review swaps.

I've just joined tonight: been exploring and found this thread. I like to write for fun, and my husband recently created some blog pages on our website so now I can see my work in print. The blog menu page link is http://agreenproject.org/MenuBlogs/in... and from there you can choose what you feel like reading...stories, essays, some words about the videos my husband has made for me....there is something for everyone. We have just gotten started on this particular project, and the plan is to post at least 2 stories and a few essays per month so I hope if you go and enjoy, you will go back regularly. Thanks for reading!!
Amber, I've just had a peek at your writing link. It is too late at night for me to read spooky stuff but I will definitely go back in daylight...your stories sound interesting!
Thanks Debbie. I'm writing a new one called EPICQUEST right now that is a dark fantasy horror web serial where I am doing a chapter a week until I finish on my goodreads writing page and on my wattpad page so I only have the prologue up to chapter 2 so far and have not got a chance to write chapter 3 yet but hope to do so soon. Hope you enjoy my stories if you check them out. Robert Englund inspires me in my writing for my stories and I just write them for fun.
I read the two shorter ones you've posted here but will have to wait for the others until in-laws leave so I can focus better. =)) Since you like horror you might enjoy ONE MAN'S JOURNEY in the Thousand and One Stories section of the link I mention above. Nothing drastically horrific, but there is a dark side to it.
Okay cool Debbie Thanks. If you read my AbyssFantastical web serials and epicquest so far, please let me know what you think and the one about the mad doctor is pretty good too as Robert Englund inspired me for the villain in the mad doctor one and in the first AbyssFantastical web serial. the villain in the second AF was inspired by voice actor and captain Kirk in the star trek continues web series Vic Mignogna.
I will start them during the week. From the little I have skimmed, the ideas are clever and should be fun to read!
Awesome! ^_^ enjoy Debbie and epicquest will be a chapter a week until I finish so I hope to write and post chapter 3 soon.
I decided to post my Thousand And One Stories here on GR as well as on our own website blog, and I've just finished posting the four that I have completed. This is a new project and obviously will be long-term. Enjoy if you visit, and thanks!https://www.goodreads.com/story/show/...
This is the first one posted here, the others are titled One Man's Journey, Puppy Tales, and Ghost Story?. I will shamelessly self-promote whenever I add a new one. =))

I also write book reviews here on goodreads and ya book reviews and family film reviews at this website http://www.thekidzonereviews.wordpres...
