GracieKat | 195 comments I have been trying to find horror novels or anthologies/collections set in Michigan. I have read Season of the Witch, and Complete Tales of da Yoopernatural but I am having a hard time finding anymore. Michigan just seems so ripe for horror with the mines in the U.P., the firests and all that. Can anyone help or at least point me to a list? Thanks in advance!

Amanda Lyons (amandamlyons) This is a series of kids stories set there. I was thinking it might be interesting to look into at least: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/America...

This is a list of Michigan based books in general, it seems there are a lot of crime and mystery novels set in your state. https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1...

Steve Parcell | 908 comments Fighting Malevolent Spirits by Samantha Harris is set i9n Michigan. Although I am English I have relatives in Holland and Port Betsie and have visited your beautiful state 3 times now. You are lucky people to be living there.

Steve, you need a home here. Buy my 5 bedroom house located conveniently in the middle of the state! The minute my daughter graduates from school I intend to be moving to a state where the grass is bluer.

Steve Parcell | 908 comments I would love to Holly but I can only dream!!! I assume you wouldn't be too far away from Port Betsie but farther away from Holland?

GracieKat | 195 comments Thanks a bunch! And thank you, it is a beautiful state but it can be oh so creepy sometimes as well. That's why I never understood how little it gets used in horror movies or books or tv shows. There's a few here and there but not as many as you'd think there should be.

Rusty (rustyshackleford) | 134 comments As I recall, this is set in Michigan - Infected (Infected, #1) by Scott Sigler . Also, it is awesome.

Steve the place I live looks more like the setting for Children of the Corn.

Grace is right, lots & lots of creepy people here, ignorant backwoods rednecks that look like they crawled out of the set of Deliverance (only bigger & hairier, because it's cold up here). Wintertime freaks me out too, very isolated and tundra-like at times.
