Victoria Zigler (toriz) | 192 comments Hi, I'm Victoria Zigler - or Tori, if you prefer.

I write mainly children's stories, but also some poetry.

To date (August 10th 2015) I've published 6 poetry books, 34 children's stories, and a fantasy story in a sci-fi and fantasy anthology. Among those are a fantasy trilogy, the first book in another fantasy series, a series about a little boy's adjustments after sight loss, several fairy stories and fairy tales, and some animal themed stories (including two series that are based on the lives of my own pets).

My books are available as eBooks via Smashwords in all formats they offer, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, iBooks, and a couple of other ebook retailers that Smashwords distributes to.

I am also - as of June 2015 - making my books available in paperback via CreateSpace, who will be distributing them to Amazon, and making them available for you to request from other retailers, as well as from your local library.

I shall update this thread with book releases, interviews, guest posts, and any exciting book related news I want to share.

Here are all my author links, if you want to check any of them out:

An elven village lies near the base of the now very unstable volcano, and the fate of the elves is in Zeena and Saarik’s hands."

You can already by the book as an eBook from Smashwords in all formats they offer, as well as from Barnes & Noble, Apple iBooks, Kobo, and a few other retailers Smashwords distributes to.

Victoria Zigler (toriz) | 192 comments I'm still feeling really excited about having released the final book in my "Zeena Dragon Fae" series, and it's made me feel really generous. So, I've decided to put the eBook versions of the other three books in the series on sale.

I don't release my series books as boxsets, so this is a perfect oppertunity for those who generally like to grab a boxset to take advantage of the chance to save almost the cost of a whole book when you grab the whole set.

The sale runs until June 12th 2016.

For more details (including coupon codes and links) go here: http://ziglernews.blogspot.co.uk/2016...

Victoria Zigler (toriz) | 192 comments The following books of mine are now also available in paperback via CreateSpace and Amazon:

*Asha's Big Adventure
*The Magical Chapters Trilogy, Book 2: The Pineapple Loving Dragon
*The Magical Chapters Trilogy, Book 3: A Magical Storm
*Zeena Dragon Fae, Book 4: Zeena And The Phoenix

The above mentioned four books will soon also be available in paperback from Barnes & Noble, and a few other places who accept orders of books published via CreateSpace.

So, that's every single one of my books for which the release date has been and gone, available to buy in not only multiple eBook formats - which will, one way or another, cater to your needs, regardless of your prefered method of reading eBooks; it doesn't matter if you prefer to use a Kindle, a Nook, some other kind of eReader, or your computer, because there's a format that will work for you - but also, for those who prefer a physical book, they're in paperback too!

For anyone who doesn't know, or needs reminding:

You can buy my books in multiple eBook formats via Smashwords, and the various retailers they distribute to (including Barnes & Noble, Apple iBooks, Kobo, and several others). They're also available to order through several libraries that support eBook lending. Of course, you'd have to check with your own local library to see if this includes yours.

You can also buy my books in paperback via CreateSpace, and the various places they distribute to (which includes the Amazon sites for many countries, Barnes & Noble, and The Book Depositary, among others). Also, like with my eBooks, my paperback books are available to request from many libraries. Once again, you'd have to check with your own local library to see if that includes yours.

Victoria Zigler (toriz) | 192 comments It's time for the 2016 Smashwords Summer/Winter sale!

To celebrate, the eBook versions of every single one of my books is half price this year. So just go to my Smashwords page, pick your books, add them to your cart, and enter coupon code SSW50 at checkout for each book.

My Smashwords author page can be found at http://www.smashwords.com/profile/vie...

Yes. You can use that coupon code for as many of my books as you want, and it is the same coupon code for all of them... It works that way because it's a sitewide promotion.

No. The coupon code will not work on other sites. This is a Smashwords only thing.

Don't forget: Smashwords offers a large variety of formats, and most Smashwords authors take advantage of this - I'm one of them. This means that you can buy books from Smashwords in a format that will work for you, regardless of your prefered method of reading eBooks, be it with a spacific eReader, or on your computer. So there's no excuse not to take advantage of this oppertunity to get some eBooks on sale.

Sale ends July 31st 2016.

I was author of the month there two years ago too, but a lot can happen in two years, especially with someone who writes as many books in a year as I do, which you may have noticed just by reading this thread. So, I'm taking a turn in the spotlight again.

You can check out the thread by going here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/....

Not able to post on that thread? Feel free to ask me questions on the "ask the author" thingy on my Goodreads author page instead.

Victoria Zigler (toriz) | 192 comments Today is the official release date for "Eadweard - A Story Of 1066" - my latest book, and first attempt at historical fiction.

Eadweard - A Story Of 1066 by Victoria Zigler

Here's the book's description:

"It’s October 14th 1066, and King Harold’s Saxon army is about to go in to battle against Duke William’s invading Norman army. Among the ranks of the Saxons are two boys who shouldn’t be there: Eadweard, and his best friend, Cerdic.

Daydreams of becoming great war heroes had the boys convinced to disobey their Fathers and go to war, despite the possibility of punishment if they were caught. Now it’s time for the battle to begin, and Eadweard is starting to wish he’d stayed home after all. But it’s too late to turn back now, and Eadweard finds himself witnessing the events of the battle that would later be called The Battle Of Hastings, and learning how different from his imaginings the reality of war actually is.

*Note: This is a work of fiction, which is based on actual events. It tells the story of the battle between King Harold’s Saxon army and Duke William’s Norman army, which took place a short distance away from the town of Hastings on October 14th 1066, in a place now known simply as Battle. Though this is a children’s story, the recommended reading age for this book is eight years and over, since it is a story that takes place on a battlefield, and therefore contains scenes of violence that are not suitable for younger, or more sensitive, readers."

You can already buy the eBook version from Smashwords in all formats they offer, as well as from sites they distribute to (like Barnes & Noble, iBooks, Kobo, etc).

Victoria Zigler (toriz) | 192 comments To celebrate the 950th anniversary of the Battle of Hastings, some of the authors who brought you "Wyrd Worlds" and "Wyrd Worlds II" wrote stories based around the battle in question, then got together to do a multi-author promotional event.

As part of this event I was interviewed by fellow authors, Barbara G.Tarn and A. L. Butcher. The first went live on October 14th 2016 and the second went live on October 16th 2016. You can read the interviews at https://creativebarbwire.wordpress.co... and https://libraryoferana.wordpress.com/... (the second also contains a character interview).

There's also an author Q and A thread at https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... where we're all answering questions about our stories until the end of the month, if you want to check that out.

Victoria Zigler (toriz) | 192 comments I'm a couple of days late posting this, but...

This past Saturday (December 17th 2016) "Ulrike's Christmas" was officially released.

Ulrike's Christmas by Victoria Zigler

You can already buy it as an eBook from Smashwords in all formats they offer, as well as from some other eBook retailers, such as Barnes & Noble, iBooks, and Kobo, among others... Basically, any eBook retailer Smashwords distributes to.

A paperback version will become available as soon as possible, so some time in early 2017.

Here's the book's blurb:
"Ulrike knows all about the Winter Solstice celebrations of the giants, being one himself. But what he doesn't know is why the humans cut down whole trees, only to take them home to decorate. Other giants tell him to forget about it, but Ulrike is curious; he needs to know why they do it.

Finally, when he's puzzled over it so much his head is sore from all the thinking, he decides that this is the year he'll figure it out, and risks a return trip to the home of the last family he watched to look for clues, despite almost being spotted last time he was there.

That's how he meets Billy, a friendly little boy who loves stories, and is happy to tell Ulrike all about tree decorating, and Santa Claus, along with a couple of stories he knows about them. Stories which Ulrike loves, and which inspire him to add some of what Billy says are Christmas celebrations to his own this Winter, in the hopes that Santa Claus will visit him too."

Victoria Zigler (toriz) | 192 comments On Tuesday December 27 2016, the magical worlds of two different authors collided when half-elf hero of Windemere, Luke Callindor, had an encounter with a dryad named Kishi. The very same dryad, as it happens, who helped Zeena the faerie dragon at the start of her adventures, which you can read about in my “Zeena Dragon Fae” series.

This event took place via the blog of fantasy author, Charles E Yallowitz, in a post co-written by me and Charles especially for this event.

Victoria Zigler (toriz) | 192 comments I wrote a guest post about the challenges faced by visually impaired bloggers in a world where infographics and picture heavy posts are becoming increasingly popular. The post went live yesterday (February 15th 2017) and can be found at https://scvincent.com/2017/02/15/gues... if you want to read it.

Also, today (February 16th 2017) Saarik the pixie from my “Zeena Dragon Fae” series, was a guest on Lisa Burton Radio, where he was interviewed by the host, Lisa the robot girl. Go to https://coldhandboyack.wordpress.com/... if you want to read the interview.

Victoria Zigler (toriz) | 192 comments "How To Trust Your Human" is my newest release, and it's officially out today.

How To Trust Your Human by Victoria Zigler

Here's the book's blurb:

"Losing a sibling is hard. Losing three of them is even harder. Repairing a broken bond of trust is harder still.

After his three brothers disappeared, one after another, gone to a mysterious place known only as The Rainbow Bridge, Buddy the degu is all alone in his cage. Confused and frightened, he knows only one thing for certain: he last saw his brothers in the hands of the human caretaker. That knowledge breaks the bond of trust forged between Buddy and his human in the years since he was a pup, and leaves him convinced that letting her get her hands on him will mean he disappears too. Somehow, she has to convince him he’s wrong, and earn back his trust.

Based on actual events that took place in the life of one of the author’s own degus, and told from the point of view of a degu, this is the story of how patience and love taught a confused and terrified rodent how to trust again."

You can already buy the book from Smashwords - where it's on sale at 50% off until July 31st 2017 - as well as from a few other eBook retailers (such as Barnes & Noble, Kobo, and iBooks). A paperback will become available in the near future.
