Zeus was born in a lower level farming family in Greece, but his father soon rose to a higher level merchant status making and selling wine. He met Demeter and raised his children, Persephone and Hermes, in a well cared for life, as his job as a military general paid well. He was well accomplished in battle, and in is in this theatre he learned his skills at garnering support and showing leadership. He found out one year ago his family was destined for greatness and immortality, and has never failed to work his hardest to carry them through this. He has always been a bit of a womanizer, but it seems his destined new wife will be far less tolerant of this than Demeter.

Hades was born to a valiant Greek warrior who fought directly under Zeus. When his father died to save Zeus, he and his mother began a life in poverty, until they were saved by Zeus' kind heart. In addition to buying the two a house, he promised Hades his daughter Persephone. Though the two were only twelve, and Hades had met Persephone only twice, he was immediately taken with her. He trained for war and was a rebellious young man, though he loved his betrothed dearly. He would dote on her and, though he was far less travelled or rich than her brother, would adorn her with hides of great beasts he had killed, giving her his talisman as a promise to always return to her. He learned of his awakening a year before Persephone and her family, and was taken away to learn about his realm. His mentor before him has tainted his mind with darkness and suspicion, and he is deeply angered by his inability to venture up on Olympus but twice a year. Thus he awaits the rest of his siblings alone in darkness, waiting for the time when he can see Persephone again.

Poseidon was a sucessful and quite wealthy fisherman who was married at an early age to a childhood friend. He had a daughter, two sons, and a loving wife. The family would often take grand trips on his fishing boat, as both boys were over the age of eight and knew how to pilot a boat almost as well as their father. In enthusiasm for the new Greek democracy, Poseidon's wife had gotten him to agree to run for representative in the next election. It was on that same trip that a great storm struck his ship, and Poseidon by some miracle was washed ashore. He now awaits his siblings on Olympus, though he still often scours the shoreline for his family.

Little to nothing is known about the strange circumstances of Athena's birth. She was found by an elderly woman roaming through town alone at the age of 4. The woman and her husband hunted for weeks to try and find her mother or father, but failed. She grew up in a series of homes, as each family eventually grew tired of her mischevious, boyish antics. She worked in a forge in town as a steel smith until several months ago, when her mark was revealed. She now spends her time on Olympus, arguing with Ares as if he were an old friend.

After battling a horde of Spartans in a violent war, Hephaestus was captured. He was held for a year, where he was whipped and abused to make an example out of the Greeks. It was during this time his leg was injured, causing him to become lame and walk with a severe limp. Calliope was born into a fairly well off family, and lived her childhood in relative comfort. She was doted on very much as a child due to her hearing impairment. An uncommon occurrence, her parents were sure she never got into trouble because of this, assigning a hand-maiden to attend to her needs at all times. She was in the market one day when she happened across a man-incredibly handsome, with the charm of a snake. And so she fell instantly in love with the sun. She was so in love with Apollo she refused to be followed around by a servant, much against her parents' wishes. When Apollo was revealed to be a future god, he set off to Olympus. Despite her happiness for her love, Calliope begged him to take her with him, with a deep sense of foreboding. Since he left, Calliope has disappeared off the face of the earth, with no one knowing where she went or when she disappeared.

Aprodite was raised by two penniless native Greeks who lived along the coast, collecting shells to sell by day and fishing for survival. Growing up in poverty disgusted her. At the young age of thirteen, she left her home and ventured into the city, penniless, clueless, searching for something in life yet unsure what. It was there, wandering in the markets, she was discovered by a band of Greek artists who made her their model for countless works. She was the first to make the trip to Olympus, where she now awaits her siblings.

We could start with them having some sort of debate on Olympus? Or just starting their day and having separate interactions-this could help establish relationship's and such.

Hades turned his dark, deep set, tired eyes on Persephone, and they filled with the light that seemed to glimmer off her jewels. The strong arms that stretched out to her were tired and sinewy from malnutrition, the lines and wrinkles dusted with soot from the brimstone and fire that charred the air and blackened the lungs. "Persephone!" he called out to her as they embraced, voice hoarse but joyful. She was lifted off her feet, and for a moment he did not notice the gaze of her father or brother or anyone else, held in a world where she was the sole focus of his mind, the very beating of his heart. Where she was the soft sunlight he had craved for long days and nights blurred together spent laboring in the dark. He set her down and gazed deeply upon her. "My goddess..how have you been?" he smiled.

Aphrodite swept her robes out behind her, golden cape glimmering in the sun, which seemed magnified by a thousand stars in the expansive stone room. It was befitting, she thought, as it was made almost entirely of white marble, under their feet a flat map of the earth and its terrain. It was strange, almost as if it were merely a natural pattern in the stone. Looking about the room with her brilliant eyes, her gaze moving from person to person, each of equally radiant beauty, making her bite her lip for a moment.

Poseidon gripped his staff, looking upon his two "brothers". Zeus, much like himself, was quite what he had expected. Strong, older, powerful. Yet Hades seemed younger; angrier. He could sense the troubles that would arise from ruling the earth with this child, and shook his head over the matter. He gripped the trident in his hands, thumb running over dents and scrapes as familiar to him as had been his wife's skin. He sighed heavily, stepping up onto the slightly raised horseshoe platform, seating himself in a throne with great white horses carved into marble, rearing on their hind legs under the armrests. He rested his cheek upon his hand in boredom.

Athena did not walk into the room, she arrived. With perhaps a more intimidating appearance than Ares. Clothed in full battle armor, hair pulled back tight, shoulders held high and broad. There was no mistaking she was the goddess of battle, though the dangerous glint in her eyes made it clear she was wiser than her male counterpart. She gazed over to the twins, and to the lithe woman whose eyes were just as hard as her own. She peaked her interest, and she stayed her gaze on her as she made her way over to her throne, each edge of the back perched upon by an owl.

Hephaestus trailed the rest of the group, entering slowly, favoring his left side heavily in an attempt to hide his limp. He was unlike these gods, as he avoided conversation and interaction on nearly every occasion. He looked to the woman seated in the middle of the room, clothing simple and ragged, skin seeming quite coal dusted from the fire. Her hands, like his, blackened from her job. He nearly opened his mouth to speak to her, but heard Zeus began to speak, and and turned defeatedly to his throne, eyes reflecting the precious metals that were his until he seated himself in it.

Zeus cleared his throat and ascended the steps to his grand throne, standing before it as he cast a look over to his new wife. She possessed a hard sort of beauty, and it became clear to him that the soft spoken ways of his former wife, which allowed him to scrape by and get away with whichever folly or infidelity he pleased, were a thing of the past. He outstretched his strong arms to the group that was seated in the hall, smiling slightly. "Welcome. I am sure you have all enjoyed touring what will be your new home for centuries to come. As a way to welcome all, I invite you to a banquet tonight. In our honor. A welcome to all! Gods of high and low status, nymphs, driads, and the best of food!" he laughed in a good natured way and sat back in his seat, looking to his new and lovely wife.

Hades seated himself in the great obsidian throne of his, skulls forming the ends of the armrests. He was not entirely and particularly fond of this, nor was he fond of his granted "territory". Brimstone in death seemed far more fitting of the angry, stocky man in the corner of the room, not himself. He personally felt cheated, as if Zeus had given him this territory in an attempt to separate him and his daughter. Whatever the bearded "king"'s intention with his actions, he made certain to squeeze his delicate Persephone's hand tighter as he looked over to him. Three months in literal Hell as the rest of these "gods" adjusted to living in luxury had all but starved him of his soul and of his happiness. His eyes were like dark, burnt out black coals. Whether there was a new spark in them this morning, or whether they were merely reflecting Persephone's light, he wasn't entirely certain.

Zeus stood once more and looked upon his new bride, skin like warm cream and hair like ebony. He could hardly wait to become acquainted with the woman- regal, authoritative. Yet he was mindful of her attitude. Though he intended to be a fair ruler, he could not have his queen and wife undermining and contradicting his rule. She posed a threat, yet a beautiful one. She held the hard-faced beauty of a woman who belonged in power. But the back of his conscience burned with the knowledge that his former wife of twenty years was sitting in the same room. She was a plain, earthly woman-but she had taken his hand in marriage and given him two children when she was far too young, and though she was quiet, she loved him through all his infidelities. He cleared his throat, banished his guilt, and clapped his hands together. “War is stirring in our lands. The Spartans wish to expand their empire and are marching on the Messenians and sailing to Crete. We need to choose a side.” His voice echoed through the white marble hall.

Poseidon leaned forward in his throne, chin in his hands, elbows resting on his legs. Personally, his in-laws were Spartans, and he was not particularly fond of the uncultured, ward driven people. They were governed by pride and vanity, spending all their money in weaponry and training. “We should stop them. We cannot allow a mindless war justified only by power hungry men to ravage our world while we sit atop this mountain feasting like gluttonous pigs. I can send a storm to destroy and slow their ships. Perhaps they will realize the gods are not in the favor of their ridiculous pining for wealth and land.” He could sense the tension in the room, yet did not cease his speaking. He was never one to be intimidated.

Athena rose in frustration, adjusting the warrior crested armband that delicately emblazoned her bicep and identified her as one not to be toyed with. Her expression was one of frustration and disgust at someone so placating. “And who are you, Apollo?” she scoffed, looking around the room for support. It seemed for certain she would gain support from the brute Ares. “Culture is not marked merely by music and art. War and battle is this people’s culture. Who are we to stand in the way of that? We are gods, not defenders of the weak. We cannot stop a battle any time a city-state wishes for land or wealth, just because the other may suffer casualties. These are parts of life,” With that, she felt she had spoken. A quiet fell upon the hall, and she raised her head, meeting Artemis’s eyes as she seated herself.

Hephaestus furrowed his brow in an expression of his discontent. Waging wars was only a reason for needless violence, and he spent many a year forging weapons, perfectly formed and balanced, only to be wasted-thrust into the hands of an untrained, young soldier, lost in the first battle. It burned the fire behind his eyes. Once a prized warrior, he had grown to despise the cruelty men willingly inflicted on the other for seeking the same thing as themselves- hypocritical. He knew it was necessary, and when two parties were skilled, he enjoyed it, although he would never admit that. But the Spartans were far from fair, his limp and scars were proof of that. Thus when Athena proposed supporting such brutes, he grumbled at the thought. Anger rose inside his soul and his skin began to sizzle, hair singing and curling up on itself. His eyes focused on Hestia, tending the fire. Where was her seat? Why was she not among them?

Aphrodite sighed in slight boredom as she looked about the room. She supposed, as they were fit to be gods, that was the reason for all their attractive faces and bodies. She looked forward to ‘trying’ to keep her hands off every one of them- including herself. She looked upon the great goddess Athena, with the beauty and pure sexual energy of a woman, yet lithely muscled like a man. She felt a pull in her stomach. Focus on the girl’s words, that’ll calm you down. Athena, she admitted, had a point. They were gods. They should not already be worried about the skirmishes between small governments. What did it matter, now that they were immortal?
((I sort of like the idea of writing Aphrodite as identifying as a woman but being wholly pansexual, as she is the goddesss of love and lust))
