A poll decided that we will choose a specific book by Nuruddin Farah for our Somalia tour stop. Here is where you can vote for that specific book:

Apologies that I put this poll up so late, but here are our choices for contemporary literature written by a man for September:

I have sent out invitations but reached the limit for one day so I will send the rest out tomorrow.

I have finally set up a thread for discussing ideas for 2016 projects:

First I would like to welcome all new members and invite you to introduce yourselves here:
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Second, I would like to point you all to current activities.
In our contemporary literature project, we didn't have any activity for July, but the thread remains open:

Because we only had two votes and they were not for the same book for our August selection, I have extended the poll a couple of days. Please vote here and then join the discussion!

I have lots to point out on our Tour. In March and April we were in Senegal. One of our selections was Squirting Milk at Chameleons by Simon Fenton, a member here, and I recently read it and thoroughly enjoyed it. Would love to have a discussion!

We are in Sierra Leone until the end of August. Our selection is Radiance of Tomorrow by Ismeal Beah. Join us here:

Our next stop is Somalia, so please add some recommendations to this thread:
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
and stay tuned for a poll.
Our July featured author in our Nigeria project was Chris Abani. Discuss his work here:
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
and stay tuned for our August feature author.
Lastly, I have not set up a thread for discussion yet, but please do think about our plans for next year. I would especially like to invite volunteers to help me run projects, so please be thinking if you are a person who could do that.
Many thanks and happy reading!
