Zadignose | 43 comments I would assume the answer to be no, but after checking the librarian manual section defining what is "not a book," I could find no guidance to help me decide whether an academic research paper can be added to the database as a "book." Since self-published ebook editions of short stories can be regarded as "books," this seems quite ambiguous. Is there a policy on this?

Academic papers are not books, with the single exception of dissertations which are publicly available (either as bound books or through ProQuest and similar services).
