Are you looking for a swap or for someone who is only a beta-reader?
I have a nurse/psych nurse background and enjoy many different genres of writing. I am more into young adult but do enjoy new adult. Also, your pitch intrigues me.
Are you looking for grammar correction and the like, or more into advice about flow and word choice/sentance choice?
I am not a professional beta, but like I said would be more than happy to do a swap.
Just let me know,
Laci

I'm not too worried about spelling/grammar/etc. That's always been one of my strengths, so I'm hoping my MS isn't riddled w/ those kinds of mistakes lol. With the PTSD/depression, I'm mostly concerned with believability. Stuff like "is this a realistic reaction to that?" or "is so-and-so's internal monologue completely out of character?" The absolute last thing I want to do is do wrong by those who deal w/ it, so general advice in that area is most appreciated.
I'd be fine with doing a swap, but I've never beta read before and I might not be able to get to anything until after August 17th. Would that be okay with you?
Thanks for your interest!
Sara

What I really need is grammar, and tense correction.
Please email me at lmhoff@email.phoenix.edu, so we can organize a plan.

I appreciate a little diversity. I think it is often left out and as you said more of a plot device.
We are also apparently name sisters (same spelling and everything!) so there is that. ;)
Let me know if you are interested. You can email me at slwages@comcast.net or message me on Goodreads.

Pitch:
When a vampire serial killer resumes a killing streak spanning seven centuries, twenty-three-year-old Hayden makes it her personal mission to put him down before he adds any more victims to his list. A vampire hunting specialist herself, Hayden knows she can take him down, if only she knew his identity. Coded letters between his victims are the only real clues, and if she can find the key, she may be able to uncover the information she needs. Distractions keep piling up, however, and Hayden’s familial duties, students, ex boyfriend, and PTSD are vying for her attention, as well. Desperate to live up to her family’s legacy, Hayden throws herself into her work, determined to be the one to take the killer out no matter the cost.
Basically, I’d love to find some betas who:
1. Enjoy multiple subgenres/a little genre bending
2. Enjoy vampire/werewolf/supernatural reads
3. Crave a little frickin’ diversity that happens naturally, rather than being a plot point/device
4. Like their novels to have a little medical/microbiology-based science fiction element
5. Are familiar with PTSD and/or depression
6. Don't mind the 2nd chance at love trope
7. Are New Adult fans who are willing to help a girl out!
For anyone who fits any of the above, I’ve got some specific questions regarding the things I’ve mentioned. If you’d be so kind, please let me know which ones you’re most familiar with so I can tailor my questions to you.
Thanks in advance!
Sara
